My wife has become a fan of vector style artwork lately. I thought I would break from my normal routine with my photography and my usual style of artwork to create something special for her.
Starting from a photograph of her, I began painting over and then adding lots and lots (perhaps TOO many?) additional elements. The hibiscus flower in her hair was added as a reminder of our honeymoon in Hawaii. :)
This was definitely a fun project to work on and I'm looking forward to some more creations in this style.

Experiment in drawing moving vector dots on a video vectorscope using an FPGA to synthesize a chrominance signal (using only the luminance channel) that is slightly off the colorburst frequency, causing the rotation. The synthetic D1 video signal is sent to an encoder chip to create the analog video signal.
After some time off this series for other work and travel, I spent the week chipping away at this second large sketch to be translated as a vector art piece.
It is now well over six feet high and becoming cumbersome to photograph.
