There are over 40 different varieties of mustard plants, but three are the most popular for culinary use; black, brown, and white mustard seeds typically go into recipes and making mustard. All three varieties are found in the U.S. as well as other parts of the world.
Mustard is the second most-used spice in the United States, as its usage is only exceeded by the peppercorn. And it's no wonder since mustard works well with all types of meats, pork, poultry, and seafood. You may be used to standard yellow prepared mustard, but there are other wonderful varieties of seeds and prepared mustards to experiment with.

These Flowers are the Survivors from the Original Bunch of Flowers that I Received for my Birthday on the 13th November .
One of 5 varieties of minivets in the forest we visited and a lifer!. Not the rarest, but definitely quite an uncommon one. It looks similar to the common Scarlet Minivet, but has a rosy frontside due to which it derives that name.
Similar behaviour as that of the other minivets except that it prefers small groups, usually 2 where both the male and female forage together. It is also a high canopy bird and prefers to come out to the open at the top!
ebird doesn't list the forest we visited as a native range of this bird, but since we sighted it during the non-migratory season, assume its resident there. The last trip we even sighted it nesting.
Thanks so much in advance for your views, faves and feedback.
Ring-necked Pheasants come in all colours these days and here are two more from up on Sheriffmuir. This variety lacks the neck ring but had a distinctive reddish cast to its plumage

Sometimes the sea looks grey or with an assortment of blues and adding a touch of white foam or sea diamonds. Pastels, reflections ripples, patterns and the intensity of the sun add to the variety of sea artwork to be appreciated.
It is the first year we have this variety of daffodils in the garden. As you may have seen in photos I posted earlier on, they are not all identical.

I have a pretty blue columbine growing in my yard, but I really don't think any of the cultivated varieties are as attractive as this Wild Columbine I find in the woods right now.

While most of the images I post are of abandoned places, this is not. This beauty is on it way to being refurbished.
Characteristics
Large, green variety that sings with a hard, sharp rattle. The wings are broad and long: they are about twice the length of the abdomen. In the female they reach to the tip of the ovipositor. The females have a long, almost straight ovipositor.
Habitat
The species lives in sprouting, firm herbs and firm thickets such as bramble vegetation. There, despite their size and sound, they are quite difficult to find: the green is a good protective color, the animals turn away behind a stem and they stop singing when you get close. (MVV).
Appearance
General throughout the Netherlands.
Kenmerken
Habitat
(mvv).
Voorkomen
Algemeen in heel Nederland.

The joint Union Pacific and Utah Railway yard was packed with interesting equipment the morning of Aug. 27, 1978. Parked along the turntable pit are GP7 No. 120, GP30 No. 873, and GP9 No. 312. TR5 “Cow & Calf” No. 1875/1875B are spotted on the roundhouse lead while Utah Railway wood caboose No. 60 is parked out of service on a side track.

I was taking photos of the Wildfire that burnt near Brookmere, BC this summer and noticed that this Spruce tree still had some green branches while the other trees seemed to perish. Then I noticed that there was a variety of different conifers growing side by side. As well as the Spruce, there is a Lodgepole Pine, a Ponderosa Pine, and what I think is a fir tree. Interesting that this area is suitable for all these different types of trees.
I give a lot of attention to the Utah desert. But I love the mountains just as much. Thankful to live amongst such beautiful variety.
