'Vanity' is a quarantine art project, a composite made from many photos. It helped me to understand blend modes in Photoshop. This image is dedicated to the memory of a friend, Ilya Nazarov of Kiev (1962-2014), whose soul did not survive the Soviet Afghan war. All the components in this image have something to do with my friend: The title comes from the Book of Ecclesiastes, which he read.
The psychedelic colors speak of the drugs he used to cope with PTSD, the flowers are for comrades lost on the battlefield and the watch parts stand for Ilya's gift for repairing things. The image is best appreciated by looking at it in detail.
