Am späten Nachmittag des 13. September 2021 überquerte die 541 009 der SŽ mit einem Neuwagentransport die Drava in Maribor.

EZ 51187 aus Seelze Mitte nach München Norf Rbf bestand aus zahlreichen fabrikneuen Volkswagen und wurde von 187 107-8 durch das grüne Mittelfranken traktioniert.
EZ 51187 (consisting of many brand new Volkswagen cars) from Seelze to Munich North shunting yard was hauled by 187 107-8 through the green woods of Franconia.

This street was the worst we came across in the old town of Sibiu. All others at least contained a mix of renovated and run-down houses.
Genau an der Grenze zwischen Mittelfranken und Schwaben befindet sich diese schöne Fotostelle bei Gundelsheim. Am 01. Juli 2020 konnte ich dort die 187 107 mit dem EZ 51187 von Seelze Mitte nach München Nord Rbf fotografieren. Das Ladegut zeigt, dass nach dem Shutdown die Automobilproduktion wieder aufgenommen wurde.
Exactly at the border between Middle Franconia and Swabia you can find this beautiful photo place near Gundelsheim. On July 01, 2020 I was able to take a picture of DB Cargo's 187 107 with mixed freigt train EZ 51187 from Seelze to Munich North shunting yard there. The cargo shows that after the shutdown the car production was re-started.

Kurz vor Sonnenuntergang konnte ich bei Brannenburg im Inntal noch den DGS 49841 von München Milbertshofen zum Brenner fotografieren. Die Ladung fabrikneuer Volkswagen für den italienischen Markt wurde vom ÖBB-Vectron 1293.177 befördert.
10 February 2023 was a clear but snowless winter day in the foothills of the Alps. Shortly before sunset, I was able to photograph freight train DGS 49841 from Munich Milbertshofen to Brenner near Brannenburg in the Inn valley. The load of brand-new Volkswagens for the Italian market was carried by ÖBB Vectron 1293.177.
Produkte aus dem Hause Volkswagen wurden am 01. März 2022 mit dem Autotransportzug DGS 49831 von München Milbertshofen nach Verona Q.E. befördert. Zuglok über den gesamten Laufweg hinweg war die 1293.041 der ÖBB. Bei Brannenburg im Inntal konnte ich die Leistung dokumentieren.
Volkswagen products were transported from Munich Milbertshofen to Verona Q.E. on 01 March 2022 with the car transport train DGS 49831. ÖBB's 1293.041 was the locomotive for the entire journey. I was able to take a picture of the train near Brannenburg in the Inn valley.

Mit einem gemischten Güterzug, vorrangig aus neuen Volkswagen bestehend, konnte 185 368-8 bei Vierkirchen fotografiert werden.
DB Cargo's 185 368-8 was photographed near Vierkirchen while hauling a southbound mixed freight train mostly consisting of brand-new Volkswagen cars.
Schon lange wünschte ich mir ein passables Bild des DGS 69381 von Bremen Rbf. nach München Milbertshofen, wird dieser Neuwagentransport doch gelegentlich von Loks des schwedischen Unternehmens Hectorrail traktioniert. Leider ist es oft nicht vorhersagbar, ob der Zug ab Treuchtlingen den Weg über Augsburg oder Ingolstadt nimmt. Auch erreicht die Leistung ihr Ziel oft nicht mehr bei Tageslicht. Am 11. Mai 2018 hat es zumindest kompromissbehaftet halbwegs geklappt: 242.504 kam mit einer Ladung brandneuer VW Golf und Tiguan wenige Augenblicke, bevor die Fotostelle im Schatten lag, in der Nähe von Vierkirchen an mir vorbeigefahren.

I wanted to go out and do something with the wonderfully misty day. I have not been doing very well lately, physically and emotionally (doing a face-down today didn't really help with the physical part, but oh well) but as long as FDT can get me out of the house and smiling, that's something.
So, I guess this means no pun for me this month.

Explored!
It's so odd that of all my photos, it's mostly the Face-down Tuesday shots that get explored. I really wonder how that algorithm (if it is that) works.
This Mark 4 Golf may or may not be a GTI - the badges were shaved off - but as it's obviously modified, I sure hope it has a potent engine under the hood. The base two-liter four carried over from the Mark 3 era is a competent engine - it powers my Golf - but it's hardly an engine for serious sporting.
That's fine by me, I don't know if I could handle a VW engine of GTI caliber. :-)

As fate would have it, this rare '65 Citroën was parked right behind my own 2000 Volkswagen Golf. I couldn't resist the opportunity to photograph them together.
They make a pretty couple, don't they? :-)
I can't believe I took this picture in Montclair, New Jersey. I thought such a picture was possible only in Europe. :-D
This is one of the later 1.8 MK1 GTIs and a late car overall being registered in June 1983. I believe it to be a Campaign limited edition run-out special too judging by the iconic Pirelli ‘P’ alloy wheels. It was once now also Mars Red but 10 years in direct sunlight has paid its price on the paintwork, This one confusingly has been off the road since 2013 and passed its last MOT with no advisories at 245000 miles. The owner seems to like their cars so hopefully this one will return to the road again.
