While I was waiting for the sun to hit the top of the mountain I decided to grab my backup camera and walk around. I took some random shots until I came across this beauty. I think this ended up being my favourite over the Comp I was waiting for. Let me know what you think. VLOG below.

Vlog of this one here...
Sunday at Portknockie, on Scotland's Moray Firth, was a slightly more flat day. There wasn't much wind and the sky was largely uninteresting. This made finding a good shot tricky. Fortunately as the tide reached its highest point, some good waves kicked up and gave me an opportunity to revisit a composition from a while ago and see if I could put a different spin on it.
Door het mooie weer en de werkzaamheden aan de betuweroute vlogen de spotters vandaag als bijen op bloemen af op de Brabantroute, voor het vastleggen van (omgeleide) goederentreinen. En er zijn veel treinen in het prachtige lentezonnetje(in de winter nog wel) gepasseerd. Er zat niet heel veel bijzonders tussen, maar alsnog was het een behoorlijk geslaagde dag, mede doordat de Neuss shuttle met de Crossrail DE6302 langs kwam. Het is geen omleider, maar wel een trein waar we min of meer op hadden gehoopt. En het geluk was met ons, want ook deze trein passeerde de lens op deze zonnige zaterdag.

Yesterday was a really productive day. After a 30 minute jog first thing, I decided to drive to Spey Bay, in Morayshire, Scotland, to do a vlog and get a couple of images. When I set out, there was a thick sea fog over the entire area but by the time I made it to this location, it had more or less completely burned off. This put somewhat of a damper on my thoughts of a moody, very long exposure so I had to work with what I had. Which, to be fair, wasn't a bad thing as the light shining off the pebbles on the beach made for a stunning scene.
Op vrijdag 7 maart 2025 konden mijn treinenspotmaat eindelijk weer eens met z’n tweeën op stap. Het doel van de dag was een bezoek aan de Rollbahn. Mijn goede ervaringen uit 2024 smaakten naar meer en zodoende gingen we beide met hoge verwachtingen de flinke rit in de auto maken. Het was gezellig in de auto en we kwamen in een mooi ochtendzonnetje aan op onze eerste stek in de buurt van Westbevern. Na enkele minuten hadden we al onze eerste goederentrein in de pocket: een prima voorteken. Binnen een uur hadden we drie goederentreinen op deze stek en met een goed gevoel gingen we naar onze volgende stek bij Hasbergen.
Daar kregen we helemaal het “wauw-gevoel”. Er vloog een prachtige Rode wouw over. Helaas was het qua cargo niet echt wauw al pakten we wel een fraaie goederentrein. ’s Middags gingen we op twee stekken in de buurt van Diepholz wachten op de grote uittocht uit Bremen. Die kwam echter niet toen wij er stonden. We moesten het doen met vier goederentreinen waarvan we ook nog één moesten delen met een tractor met giertank van achteren. Met een aantal fraaie goederentreinen, twee “oude” ICE’s, een 101 met IC, Flixtrain en een losse 221 in de pocket gingen we toch redelijk tevreden naar huis.
Hier zien we de Hector Rail 241.005 met een goederentrein richting Osnabrück bij Hasbergen op 7-3-2025.

Just as I was about to pack up and leave this location yesterday, I turned around and saw that the waves were rushing around and spilling over these rocks, creating a really interesting composition that I had disregarded earlier. Sometimes a great shot can present itself to you when you aren't looking for one. I love moments like these and it tends to sum up landscape and seascape photography for me. Things are always changing and you just need to be ready. Taken at Tronach Head near Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.

Gisteren, maandag 19 augustus was ik voor de derde keer tussen Ploiesti en Brasov. Vandaag vloog ik vanaf Cluj naar huis, waardoor ik niet de hele dag had op deze lijn, ik moest al redelijk optijd de trein naar het noorden nemen.
Ik kon twee dingen tegelijk afstrepen, nog een extra foto van de franse stam en eindelijk een foto in Timișu de Sus. Regio Călători heeft jaren geleden enkele franse RRR stammen gekocht samen met de daarbij passende BB25500 Loks. Ondanks dat deze treinsets als trek-duw stam kunnen rijden gebeurt dit tussen Ploieşti en Braşov nooit, re reden hiervan is mijn onbekend. Bijvoorbeeld, bij de trein uit Constanta trekt de lok richting Bucuresti, na kop maken daar duwt hij tot Ploieşti, en daar loopt de lok om om te trekken naar Braşov, dezelfde richting. Het enige wat ik me kan bedenken dat dit te maken heeft met de grote stijgingen en bochten op dit traject.
Slechts enkele ritten per dag rijden deze RRR stammen, maar gelukkig altijd op vaste uren.
Om 14:18 komt Regio Călători BB 25517 met trein RE 11034 naar Bucureşti Gara de Nord door het station van Timișu de Sus.
