Vanmorgen vloog de laatste Pimpelmees uit het nestkastje en gelukkig was ik erbij. Het meesje bleef een tijdje zitten in de lavendel, lang genoeg om een serie foto's te maken en ik kon vlakbij komen.

The weather forecast on Thursday Morning was for South Easterly winds and clear skies in the Manawatu. But cloud in the Tararua, so I drove over the hill in search of conditions for my Vlog. the skies were clear but there was great light and ground fog. Een nieuwe Werbelok kon voor ons worden afgestreept. TXL's Edelstahl vloog bij Hermannspiegel de bocht om.
TXL 193 267 met sleep Italiaanse FS schuifwandwagens langs Hermannspiegel in noordelijke richting.
This was just an unnamed roadside waterfall that caught my eye. I wanted to make it look like a veil and the little amount of water let me get away with it. I also love the splotches of green under the water. VLOG below.

Vlog of this one here...
Sunday at Portknockie, on Scotland's Moray Firth, was a slightly more flat day. There wasn't much wind and the sky was largely uninteresting. This made finding a good shot tricky. Fortunately as the tide reached its highest point, some good waves kicked up and gave me an opportunity to revisit a composition from a while ago and see if I could put a different spin on it.

Yesterday was a really productive day. After a 30 minute jog first thing, I decided to drive to Spey Bay, in Morayshire, Scotland, to do a vlog and get a couple of images. When I set out, there was a thick sea fog over the entire area but by the time I made it to this location, it had more or less completely burned off. This put somewhat of a damper on my thoughts of a moody, very long exposure so I had to work with what I had. Which, to be fair, wasn't a bad thing as the light shining off the pebbles on the beach made for a stunning scene.

De Dreiseenbahn is een 19,2 km lange spoorlijn die in het Zwarte Woud loopt van Seebrugg naar Titisee. Op dit traject rijden hoofdzakelijk enkel moderne treinstellen van DB die een uurdienst verzekeren tussen beiden steden. In de zomer worden er tijdens de weekends ook historische treinen ingezet door de vereniging "IG 3Seenbahn e.V. ". Deze vereniging kocht enkele jaren geleden het emplacement van Seebrugg over van DB en beschikt over heel wat rollend materieel, ze beschikken momenteel wel nog niet over een rijvaardigde locomotief en daardoor worden er voorlopig elke zomer museumlocomotieven van andere verenigingen ingezet. In de zomer van 2024 werden de E41 001 & E40 128 van het DB Museum ingezet en dit was dan ook een geldige reden voor een weekendje Zwarte Woud met het gezin.
Op 10 augustus werd de E41 001 ingezet en voor de allereerste rit die dag reden we naar Titisee, dit was ook meteen het engiste fotopunt waar deze rit deftig kon worden vastgelegd met een goede zonnestand. Aangezien de foto gemaakt is vanop privé domein werd er eerst aangebeld aan het huis van de eigenaar om toestemming te vragen. Al vlug ging de deur open en deden we onze uitleg wat we kwamen doen, de Duitse vrouw apprecieerde het enorm dat we toestemming kwamen vragen en gaf ons dan ook toestemming.
Kort nadat we onze positie hadden ingenomen verscheen er in de verte een groepje jonge "spotters" (lees ongeleide projectielen), zonder toestemming vlogen ze meteen het privé domein op en het duurde dan ook niet lang voordat de vriendelijke Duitse vrouw plots enorm kwaad naar buiten kwam en begon te schreeuwen dat ze meteen moesten vertrekken. Toch wel een beetje verbaasd stonden wij erbij te kijken wat er allemaal gebeurde... Achteraf vertelde de vrouw ons dat er enkele dagen voordien een groepje Nederlanders ook foto's was komen maken (zonder toestemming) en dat zij vernielingen hadden aangebracht op haar domein (Bloemen en dergelijke plat getrapt). De vrouw had zelfs de politie ervoor gebeld en vertelde dat ze ook een klacht had ingediend tegen onbekende (want ze had de nrplaat van de auto niet goed kunnen zien toen ze weg reden)....
Maar bon! Gelukkig hadden wij wel toestemming en stonden we ook gewoon met de ladder op een verharde ondergrond, dit hadden we ook meteen aangegeven bij de dame in kwestie. Na dit hele gebeuren was het natuurlijk tijd om ons klaar te maken om de E41 001 te fotograferen! Kort voor de doorrit kwam er ook nog een mooie Unimog mee in beeld staan, dat was uiteraard mooi meegenomen.
