Accurate scales build customer goodwill; so says the Herbert & Sons leaflet.
Here are the scales used to weigh out orders at Atkinson's. They may be old, but they are quick and accurate - I re-weighed my tea at home on my electronic scales, and the weight was spot on.
These scales were made sometime between 1910 and 1945. The maker, Herbert & Sons, was established in London in 1760 and is still trading.

We have so many people named David, Joe, Mike, Bob and Bill in the USA. They were popular names. This one is not about you (if your name is David, Joe, Mike, Bob or Bill) or the yellow hard hat man depicted here. Whoever made the face on this sign must shoot darts for a way of life. Perhaps the artist has anger issues. At least they got the opportunity to express themselves, albeit on a 4 ft. tall plastic mannequin.
We also now have many Alexas in the USA now as well. It is a very popular name now. Interestingly enough Alexa was once a malware/spyware program which, unknown to millions of unsuspecting users, which was built into Microsoft's Internet Explorer a couple of decades ago and was easily removed by a few good spyware removal tools. Alexa did, however, always return once IE upgraded itself and continued to collect and disperse userdata which it then *generally* had an agreement with or sold to marketing firms. Alexa has gone on to tackle a larger mass.

Sometimes the traffic can build up badly on Staines Moor, resulting in congested bridges. No choice then but to take to the water!
Sights like this will never be seen again if this area is paved under an airport runway as per one of the plans for a third runway for Heathrow. Can't believe anyone would want to destroy such an important area as Staines Moor, the "environmental impact" assessment in the Heathrow document is a joke.
