Some say that thirteen is an unlucky number. Will these parents think the same? (Look very well because there are 13 goslings not 12). At this time of the year, the lake always has a lot of algae and the remnants of leaves and branches from autumn and winter. It doesn't help that it hasn't rained much. (Even if isn't a good photo, looks better in large). For those that can’t see number 13, see tag on photo).
Thank you very much for your kind comments and visit, much appreciated!
And so... I went out on the streets, under a bright full moon, hoping to catch a glimpse of this unlucky, beautifully sad, forever bride.
After some meandering ,under a silver moon ray, there she was, staring at some far place ahead of her, her eyes fixed on the horizon.
She emanated a soft luminescence , a sweet soft light that was far from scary, her tender youth frozen in time.
The scent of jazmine and rose came to greet me.
As I stood there, in awe and feeling an unexpected emotion, an aching respect for her grief , she slowly turned slightly , the trace of a smile on her beautiful face.
She softly said this words to me, a loud enough whisper for me to hear...
"Promise me, when you see
A white rose you'll think of me
I love you so never let go
I will be your ghost of a rose"
And then, she was gone.
She took with her the moonlight, the soft shimmer and the sweet scent of flowers, leaving me, unexpectedly, with a feeling of loss and emptiness.
The next day, I stopped again on that bridge and left a bouquet of white roses on the spot I saw her .
How vulnerable love makes us, but how strong , beautiful, enduring and all encompassing this powerful energy is.

Unlucky month. First problem with the computer, then after only a week of activity on Flickr, I got the flu that became pneumonia.
Has finally released the fever and I can sit at the computer and look at all my good friends' wonderful pictures.
Wish you a beautiful weekend, and you, who have springtime, enjoy!!

How unlucky can you be to lose 2 cats to the same condition. Last night I found Charlie on the driveway, he had lost the use of both back legs and he was panting badly. I knew it was saddle thrombus as I lost Molly to the same condition, It was a long drive to the emergency vets. He was only 5. There is no real treatment, I had to let him go. So incredibly sad ..
HMM superstitions....... apologies if you had already seen the first version-- i needed to crop it down to fit the parameters. these are miniature cards and the wooden heart is under 2 inches.
I am not a spider expert but I believe the Harvestman was making a meal of the Black Bean aphids.
Harvestmen look like spiders, but these arachnids are not a spider. They are in the order Opiliones ( formerly Phalangida ) and have no venom and lack fangs.
Also, they can swallow solid food, which allows them to eat small insects.

After I had discovered this location close to the Tilden mine, I was really hoping on a late 3 Tilden with ore cars to make this shot work for the southbound run. On my second to last try however, the greens ran light engine to the mine, and very early. At first disappointed, I quickly realized that for the return shot this would be perfect timing as the shadow of the pile I was standing on grew longer and longer by the minute. With still plenty of light and color in scene, the old GE's could be heard chugging out of the mine and my favorite scene of the trip was frozen in pixels.
Thirteen, unlucky for some. Definitely too many for most viewers. The picture here include pictures taken with the sign in the original picture and several where the sign has been cut out and copy and pasted in. Should you wish you can look for the originals with sign in and those where the sign has been added? This sign is set outside of the fort complex and shows part of the path that people walk from coast to coast along the way of the wall. Within the fort similar signs with an interactive aspects story lead you on trail.
Birdoswald Roman Fort is fantastic site to visit and the café was an absolute superb treat.
Possibly either in a hunt for where has the stone from Hadrian’s Wall gone, or just for the Priory itself you can just 4 miles away enjoy Lanercost Priory.
Organising these pictures and the links has spun around a Roman and Priory themed centre til I have nothing except building walls and making fine lines to have people elevated off the ground to scout out the view and elevated to the heavens with light and sound being built in to the structure.

Hello my liefste prinses Rosie, my allerbeste vriend Scout, my dearest niece Sweety and my dearest friends Luis and Bärbel.
I have a small problem and will therefore meet you a little later.
On the way to the Magic Portal I was attacked by a nasty bird. He stole two clogs which he took to a birdhouse in Mummy Marian's garden. I almost got them back and then he flew away...with the clogs.
I'm now stuck in the birdhouse and I'm trying to get out of here.
Maybe I'll sleep here tonight because it's getting dark.
See you soon...I hope
I love you all!!
I'm sending you many soft bearkisses. The most are for my dearest princess Rosie

Having spent 20 minutes observing and photographing this bird as he finished off his meal, I have more images than I know what to do with. As always, it is tough to decide among images I have to post. However, I like the body posture and head in this image. The bird had its back to the light, so he had to lift his head a bit in order for me to capture some light on the head and in the eye. (I believe this is a male based on the gray coloration.)
After the sunset, the southbound iron-ore train passing through the Bumbat pass with 2TE25KM head loc and pusher 2M62MM locos. I was waiting and hoping for this train to come before the sunset in beautiful evening lights and long shadows. But the train was slightly delayed due to the head locomotive's cooling system problem :(

Months that begin on a Sunday have a "Friday the 13th". I couldn't find any creepy or scary photos, but for a vole this Great Gray Owl getting ready to launch could be a very unlucky day...and on this particular day, it resulted in very bad luck for the vole (you likely don't want to see that photo).
Why, Andy? Well, this morning I sat and watched Andy Murray crash out of the Australian Open after losing to Spain's Robert Bautista Agut ... I wonder if this will be Andy's last Open?!
Now, what's the relevance between the mug and Andy's bad luck? Not much really, just that I bought this mug with a couple of koala's bears a number ion years when I was in Melbourne, on business .... how time flies but the mug is still looking good!!

I was unlucky that my day in Middelburg started with a thick fog. But when I went home, I had the beautiful light of the late afternoon sun.
At the end of the bridge is Middelburg Station. After a whole day of walking through Middelburg, I only had to take the train back to Vlissingen for 6 minutes. Then nothing can go wrong, right? I was wrong after all. Someone had become unwell on the train so we didn't go. Fortunately, the next train to Vlissingen arrived quickly, so I quickly changed to that one.
Had ik me toch in vergist. Er was iemand niet goed geworden in de trein dus gingen we niet. Gelukkig kwam de volgende trein naar Vlissingen al snel dus ben ik maar snel op die overgestapt.
