The Maryland Military Department came together to recognize the diverse backgrounds and cultures of its members through the seventh annual Unity Day celebration at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore, Md., April 26.
Unity Day is an opportunity to observe the different ethnic backgrounds that make up the Military Department and educate the members on what makes each culture unique. This year’s theme was ‘Recognizing Diversity and Religion – one nation, many voices.’
Built between the years 1905 and 1908 in Oak Park, Illinois, Unity Temple is often considered one of Frank Lloyd Wright's most important structures. Wright's use of a single material, reinforced concrete, and his efficient use of space make Unity Temple one of the first modernist buildings in the world and influenced many future modernist and post-modernists.
The Atom Brick Unity Temple set highlights the total structure and use of casted concrete to create areas of interest on the façade. Builders will gain appreciation for the innovation of a building designed and built over 100 years ago.

Someone asked me "but you didn't include ALL the religions?" My answer: "No, just the ones that are killing each other". This is one of my personal favs! My friend Bert models it on my porch. We print this design on shirts made by NOSWEAT in Bethlehem (birtplace of Christ) PALESTINE. A unionized factory with arabs and Israelis working side by side.Btw- there are a few versions of this design: stay posted!
I was very lucky to shoot in an empty Unity Temple this week. This is still an active place of worship. The building was designed by Frank Lloyd Write and opened in 1908. It is considered the first "modern" building. My photos do no justice to the feeling in this room. Airy, yet quiet, with an amazing warm glow. Truly a beautiful place.

Not Una Stubbs' full name. These are ticket stubs from Unity Hall, the famous gig venue in Wakefield. The hall is now known as Unity Works and these stubs are in the window of the refurbished building.
Beautifully sculpted cast-off figurine. Expected no less of Good Smile. I can't wait till the figurine comes out, as I've pre-ordered it already. Too bad it's only 1/8 scale, and not 1/6 or even just 1/7. Even so, it seems a lot of details are in there already. Wouldn't it have been thoughtful for them to make the ends of the hair clear so sunlight can go through them? The flowers would look like the actual illustration.
Here's another with the butterfly and bees. However different these two insects are, i found it very interesting how they could live and work in complete harmony. I wish humans could be as understanding as these two here.
