A Strange, Strange World we live in Master Jack

Eastern Phoebe carrying a beak load of soft moss to line its nest and make it a more comfortable place to raise its brood.

I went to get a booster shot on a grayish December morning. Everybody present was of course wearing a mask. While waiting in line I caught the scene reflected on a silvery surface.

Zion's iconic Watchman. Zion National Park, Utah. The Watchman at sunset is one of Zion's classic shots, but when the sky cooperates it is pure magic.

An American Kestrel hiding in the solid superstructure of a power pole. It appears to be patiently waiting for an adventuring Vole, the favorite food source of this tiny (100g) and colorful falcon.

Although I've seen several this season, Kestrels are considered uncommon to rare.

An isolated lake effect storm that brought snow to the southern shores of the Great Salt Lake

This Palm Warbler pauses and appears to hover briefly in it's flight, considering where to land.

Both of these taken Sunday morning. I was there to shoot my "classic black and gold" photos, but ended up seeing a pretty awesome sunrise, too.

In this version, the sky has formed some colors but isn't yet bright enough to wash out the city lights. The city lights are still very vibrant and reflect brightly against the dark river. The clouds frame the buildings perfectly.

Final photo to follow later today...

The tunnel is a shared road/rail tunnel. you can see vehicles lined up to the right that will traverse the tunnel after the freight.
