Breeds in Alaska and most spend their winters south of the equator. A few are locally common on Oahu where this bird was photographed. The cinnamon colored-rump distinguishes it from the very similar looking Whimbrel.
Building was the original Tulsa Fire Alarm Company. The Art Deco building was built in the 1931. It was The Tulsa Fire Departments 1930 version of todays 911 call centers
You travel so many miles on your own just to experience this incredible and unique moment... In the Wasburn Route in Yosemite I found all these American photographers waiting for it to appear... and suddenly one of them shouts... “there it is...!” and its magical silver tones flooded the whole valley. The super moon was there, raising up, remembering us how small we are, how unique our world is.
I remember the really strong emotions I felt, truly a once a lifetime moment.

Friday, Nov 27 Waterfall Series:
- Arrow Through the Heart (Lower East Park Falls)
The combination of lights was intriguing to me.
As I stood beside a lightly used road (normally dangerous with mountains of snow) ..
.. no 'filter' involved .. note the lens, ISO, f/22 and Timing settings .. the ambient lighting conditions figure in heavily as well to get the 'starburst' effect as well as the head/tail lights streams.
Georges Pond is part of Demarest Lloyd state park in South Dartmouth, an area of MA that gets little traffic. But the nature here is quite breathtaking. This panoramic was captured with my phone because my Canon 24-70mm F2.8 lens started to malfunction (Err 01, an indicator of expensive repair, unfortunately).
