A single red rose shows love, a dozen shows gratitude, twenty-five shows congratulations and fifty show unconditional love. Two red roses tied together symbolise an engagement.
Sixty three years ago, an American sailor walked through New York City's Times Square. He was celebrating Japan's surrender in World War Two. The sailor saw a nurse, and kissed her. A Life magazine photographer caught the scene. This statue is based on the famous Life Magazine photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt.

Friday 30th May
Not had the best few days really. Feeling pretty lonely.
Finally getting stuck into my revision and trying to put everything else aside.
But then my cat comes along and seems to make everyhting so much better. Call me insane, and to be honest i probably AM, but I love him to pieces and Im pretty sure the feeling's mutual!! XD
Sometimes, all you really need is a bit of unconditional love to make you feel happier, and my cat doesnt talk back and come up with useless garbage to solve problems. :)

Shaun, 54, and Sharon Owens, 55, have been married for 28 years. They say the key to their longevity is their Christian faith. Shaun has lived in the city his entire life, while Sharon moved to the city in 1981 to start college at Syracuse University. Their anniversary is July 7.

“Unconditional Surrender,” a 25-foot, 6,000 pound statue by artist J. Seward Johnson commemorating a famous World War II photo. The statue is a three-dimensional interpretation of a photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York City on Aug. 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day.
