The sunflower is the national flower of the Ukraine. How I hope the Ukraine can prevail in this terrible atrocity.
Hi friends.
I'm still alive. More or less all right. As much as possible during the war. And I came up with a new artwork I did a couple of days ago.
My heart is full of pain, my mental state is very strange. I will analyze all this after our victory. But now I live moment by moment and dream of the future. About mine, about my Ukraine and the whole world. It gives strength as well as your support.
Our land, our traditions, our history, our symbols, our anthem, our freedom - this is us.
We will win!

I posted this picture in 2021 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. We need to stand with Ukraine again and show our support.
The war continues. Ukrainians bravely continue to defend their sovereign country.
The colours belie the current atrocities Ukraine is facing, but their courage and brilliance in fighting their tormenting aggressors is remarkable.
Let's hope and pray they can remain an independent, self-determining nation--and support them in every way we can.

I was working on this for Smile on Saturday's theme "flag unflagged" but thought it might be a bit too processed for that group. Also, I really liked the red, white, and blue shot I did post to the group. And I thought it was especially suited for the theme - kind of echoing the US flag's stripes and the flares mimicking stars. I do like this image too, though, and it will be fine for Sliders Sunday. Slava Ukraini!
This started as a close-up shot of a large group of orange, white, and black balloons attached to a screen to serve as a background for people's selfies at a graduation party.
(EXPLORE) Every year we have a tour in Winnipeg, called Doors Open, where you can visit historical buildings, places of interest, churches and museums for free.
We saw several of each last weekend, one of my favorites was a Ukrainian church (see interior below) that had it's own cultural display in the basement. These beautiful Easter eggs were showcased in glass drawers and we were given a tutorial of how they are made. To get an idea of the work involved, this video below will show you.

These sunflowers were growing in Norfolk, UK, in 2020. However, sunflowers will now always remind me of Ukraine.

The copula of the former National Bank of Tulsa Building always decorates the night time sky line. The lights are usually Green, however on special occasions they do have different colors. Christmas is red and green, 4th of July red, white and blue. .Currently they are Blue and Yellow to show Tulsa's support for Ukraine and it's people

In my village we have taken down the Union Jack to fly the flag of Ukraine as an expression of our support for Ukraine and its people.
