MYANMAR, Burma - Ballonfahrt früh morgens über das historische Bagan,
Bagan- auch Arimaddana oder Arimaddanapura, „Stadt Zerbrecher der Feinde“, und Tambadipa, „Kupferland“ oder Tassadessa, „Ausgedörrtes Land“) ist eine historische Königsstadt in Myanmar mit über zweitausend erhaltenen Sakralgebäuden aus Ziegelstein. Der von Tempeln bestandene Bereich erstreckt sich über ca. 36 km² in einer versteppten Landschaft und bildet eine der größten archäologischen Stätten Südostasiens. Bagan liegt in der heutigen Mandalay-Division, 155 km südwestlich der Stadt Mandalay am Ostufer des Irrawaddy, auf halbem Weg zwischen dessen Quelle und der Mündung in den Indischen Ozean und ist heute eines der wichtigsten touristischsten Ziele in Myanmar.
Bagan also Arimaddana or Arimaddanapura, "city breakers of enemies", and Tambadipa, "copper country" or Tassadessa, "parched land") is a historic royal city in Myanmar with over two thousand preserved sacred buildings made of brick. The area made up of temples extends over approx. 36 km² in a stepped landscape and forms one of the largest archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. Bagan is located in what is now the Mandalay Division, 155 km southwest of the city of Mandalay on the east bank of the Irrawaddy, halfway between its source and its mouth in the Indian Ocean and is now one of the most important tourist destinations in Myanmar.
Die Sinter-Terrassen und heißen Quellen bei dem Ort Mammoth Hot Springs im Yellowstone-Nationalpark wurden 1871 durch eine geologische Expedition entdeckt. Zuvor dürften sie nur einigen Indianer - Völkern bekannt gewesen sein. Heiße Quellen lassen Wasser von ca. 70 Grad Celsius über die Terrassen gleiten. Die hohen Kalk- und Mineralienanteile des Wassers lagern sich in Form von Terrassen ab.
The sinter terraces and hot springs at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park were discovered by a geological expedition in 1871. Before that, they were probably known only to some Native American peoples. Hot springs let water of about 70 degrees Celsius glide over the terraces. The high lime and mineral content of the water is deposited in the form of terraces.
While I highly doubt it's the case, it looks to me like the fish in this shot asked the osprey to take him somewhere -- and is going along for a fun ride while copying the expression of the bird carrying him!

Richtung Westen: Weit kann das Auge schweifen und den vertrauten Blick über die Hügel und Rebterrassen des Kaiserstuhls bis in die die Rheinebene und hinüber in das benachbarte Elsaß mit den Vogesen genießen.
Noch sind die Grenzen zum so nahen Frankreich (30 km bis ins Elsaß) weitgehend geschlossen (Corona Beschränkunen), jedoch bald werden sie wieder für die Allgemeinheit geöffnet. Ich freue mich darauf.

Walking in the Kaiserstuhl in the Black Forest
The Kaiserstuhl offers inviting wine terraces, themed paths, bike paths and a quality hiking trail around the Kaiserstuhl.
There are many opportunities to take a walk in the region,
including 16 Nature Reserves.
This well-liked path in the image offers a beautiful and familiar view in a westward direction: From the hills and terraced vineyards to the Upper Rhine valley and the Vosges mountains in the nearby Alsace, France.
The lockdown in my region allowed it to take sports like bicycle touring and walking outside.

Hoch über der Zwickauer Mulde, malerisch auf einem schmalen, an der Nord- und Südseite steil abfallenden Ausläufer des Rochlitzer Berges, thront das Rochlitzer Schloss. Weithin sichtbar prägen die beiden markanten Schlosstürme, im Volksmund die „Lichte“ und die „Finstre Jupe“ genannt, das Bild des Rochlitzer Muldentals.
Die Ursprünge der Burg reichen weit in die Vergangenheit. Es ist davon auszugehen, das die Anlage bereits zum Zeitpunkt der ersten urkundlichen Erwähnung eines Burgwards Rochilinzi im Jahre 995 bestand. Das Schloss in seiner heutigen Gestalt ist das Produkt einer nahezu tausendjährigen Baugeschichte.

Eine mich bewegende Ausstellung
Vom 4. September 2022 bis zum 6. August 2023 wird die Einzelausstellung Controlled Burn von Julian Charrière alle Ausstellungsräume der von Tadao Ando entworfenen Langen Foundation bespielen. In einer Konstellation von neuen Arbeiten, die eigens für die Ausstellung produziert wurden, ist Controlled Burn, zusammen mit Hauptwerken aus seinem Œuvre, die umfangreichste Ausstellung des Künstlers.
Controlled Burn träumt vom Feuer,
doch die Ausstellungbeschränkt sich nicht nur auf die Vorstellungskraft......
In zusammenarbeit mid der NON-PROFIT-ORGANISATION Art into Acres
unterstützt der Künstler und die LANGENFOUNDATION den erhalt von 11.307 Hektar Urwald in PERU.
Das SOLARKRAFTWERK, ein mitifinanzierter Solartrainer von AFRICA GREEN TEC, dessen Präsenz in der Ausstellung von dem Philanthropen Constantin Schwaab und HJuilian Charriere mitfinanziert wird, geht an eien Gemeinde in der Nationalpark-Ranger in Namibia leben, und unterstützt denren Naturschutzbemühungen...

Ein Lichtspektakel über den Steinwald lässt sich selten genießen. Bei so viel unterschiedliche Farben und Formen der Wolken zeigt er sich selten so schön. Ein absoluter Traum Sonnenuntergang.
