A submarine in Hood Canal approaching the floating Hood Canal bridge. The bridge drawspan will open to allow passage inadvertently creating bold lines of red in Google and Waze maps as cars wait for the bridge to reopen.

Grumman F7F Tigercat N700F Tail Code (D3) US Navy Here Kitty Kitty 80390 USN

The first flight by a Tigercat was on the 2 November 1943,Tigercat was fighter aircraft that served with the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps USMC from late in World War II until 1954. It was the first twin-engine fighter to be deployed by the USN

Rampager Reflection

My grandfather's Navy hat. When the US entered World War II, the government expanded the age requirement for those drafted to 18-37 year olds. My grandfather was 36 when he was drafted.

The last open day before the closure of Valkenburg airbase. Several NATO colleagues came to say goodbye.

 

P-3C 160287 LL-30 was from VP-30, the east coast training squadron at NAS Jacksonville. Many Dutch Orion crews were trained by VP-30 and there was an exchange program.
