A jet plane can take off a land in the Dhahran airbase from Iran in less time than it takes to find them, and board planes to prevent their attack.
The second time
The second time was after a 3 year sabbatical in Florida when King Faisal University I Dammam appointed me Professor of Architecture and offered me to teach in the Eastern Province. It was with great favor that we returned . My last contract with Al-Foadia in Riyadh offered me a simultaneous consultant contract providing me with housing, telephone, and expense account.
The dean of King Faisel University requested I start a chapter of the American Institute of Architects and Bill Brew , the US consul assisted me to make all the arrangements with the Prince of the Eastern Province.
It was during this time that we were able to assist the US Embassy in Riyadh to start holding services in the Embassy and after the Khobar bombing assist the US military to form a counseling team to comfort future tram victims. I located a great 3 bedroom apartment in the same building we lived in when we were with ARAMCO and a very strong used Buick Park Avenue.
Many trips to and from Al-Khobar and later to both India, Philippines, Leipzig, Germany and South Africa to assist our students develop their work in their home countries.
On November 11,1999 Al-Muhaidib was kind enough to provide us a one way ticket, hotel room and Mercury Marquis to depart the kingdom and return home to the USA just in time to get a great job with Lee County I have recently been called back and for the early part of 2008 worked in Qatar.
