Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺), formally Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera (音羽山清水寺), is an independent[clarification needed] Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto. The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site.
This site is always packed with the crowd, the main temple is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site; too bad, it was under the renovation at the time I visiting.

Meteora (Greece) another Greece, a place between heaven and earth and an impressive place
Meteora (Greek: Μετέωρα) are the monasteries built on high rock pillars. By centuries of wind and water erosion (once the Thessaly plain was an inland sea), the rock formations have their specific and difficult bedwingbare received appearance.
The Ironbridge, which crosses the River Severn, was the first cast iron bridge ever built (1779) and the area around it is regarded as the "Birthplace of the Industrial Revolution." Remains of the original Coalbrookdale factory that built the bridge and other important features associated with the start of the industrial revolution can be seen at museums in the UNESCO World-Heritage Ironbridge George area.
The Chateau de Chenonceau is located on the banks of the Cher.
It was built in the 16th century.

Historic Jeddah (UNESCO world heritage site) is an outstanding reflection of the Red sea architectural tradition, a construction style once common to cities on both coasts of the Red sea, of which only scant vestiges are preserved outside the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the nominated property. The style is characterized by the imposing tower houses decorated by large wooden Roshan (mashrabiya) built in the late 19th century by the city`s mercantile elites, and also by lower coral stone houses, mosques, ribat-s, suqs and small public squares that together compose a vibrant space. Historic Jeddah had a symbolic role as a gate to Makkah for Muslim pilgrims since the 7th century AH when the 3rd Caliph Othman ibn Affan made it the official port of Makkah (source: whc.unesco.org).

This small town is a UNESCO site because of the old wall, which is complete. Great to walk around it in both directions and on the top (where possible).

Uxmal is an ancient Maya city of the classical period located in present-day Mexico. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of Maya culture, along with Palenque, Chichén, and Calakmul in Mexico, Caracol and Xunantunich in Belize, and Tikal in Guatemala. It is located in the Puuc region of the eastern Yucatan Peninsula, and is considered one of the Maya cities most representative of the region's dominant architectural style. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its significance.

The Longmen Grottoes (aka Longmen Caves) is a UNESCO–listed world heritage site which has thousands of statues of Buddha carved in caves excavated from its surrounding cliffs. Unfortunately, the site was subjected to significant vandalism and senseless destruction at several points in its history. Major artifacts were removed by Western collectors and souvenir hunters during the early 20th century and by the Japanese during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The heads of many statues were also destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
The Chinese government has since recognized the cultural and tourist importance of the Longmen Grottoes and has been active engaged in the preservation and restoration of the site. For more information: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longmen_Grottoes

Wikipedia: Westminster Abbey is a large and famous Anglican church in Westminster, London. It is the shrine of Edward the Confessor and the burial place of many kings and queens. Since it was built it has been the place where the coronations of Kings and Queens of England have been held. The present structure dates from 1245, when it was started by Henry III.
The status of the Abbey is that of a Royal Peculiar. This means it is place of worship that falls directly under the jurisdiction of the British monarch, rather than under a bishop. The concept dates from Anglo-Saxon times, when a church could ally itself with the monarch and therefore not be subject to the bishop of the area. Technically speaking, it is not a cathedral, though it is regarded as one in practice.
One of the most famous tombs at Westminster Abbey is that of the Unknown Warrior.
Westminster Abbey and its small parish church, St Margaret's, form a UNESCO World Heritage site, which also includes Westminster Palace.

“Travel makes one modest. You can see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” - Gustav Flaubert.
Not just in terms of space, but also in terms of time. At least that's how I often feel when visiting a UNESCO World Heritage Site, like here in the beautiful town of Ferrara in Italy.
