غــلآتـــك!

شـوفـهـآ: بـآنــت بــ عــيــنــيّ ..

I love my fountain pens, and writing in ink - purple ink!

I know that writing with pen and ink is considered odd these days .. and I admit to being an oddball - but it is the actual pens themselves that have me feeling guilty! My fountain pens are 'special' - they can cost hundreds of UKP. I love them and cosset them, and take great care of them. But they also do provoke moments of guilt too!

The two I've chosen here are a Cross lacquered ladies pen from the 1980s and a modern Graf von Faber Castell fountain pen with guilloche body.

Used every day (I've a cupboard full of Journals!)

The MG T-Type is a series of body-on-frame open two-seater sports cars that were produced by MG from 1936 to 1955. The series included the MG TA, MG TB, MG TC, MG TD, and MG TF Midget models. The last of these models, the TF, was replaced by the MGA

The TF Midget, launched on 15 October 1953, essentialy a facelift of the earlier TD, fitted with the TD Mark II engine. The design had a more modern appearance with headlights faired into the wings, a sloping radiator grille concealing a separate radiator, and a new pressurised cooling system along with a simulated external radiator cap. Under the bonnet was the XPAG 1250cc engine carried over from the Mark II TD with an output of 57.5bhp.

In mid-1954 the engine capacity was increased to 1466cc under the designation of XPEG and the model relaunched as the MG TF 1500 output increased to 63bhp and the torque by 17 per cent. Externally the car identical to the 1250cc apart for a cream background enamel nameplate on both sides of the bonnet. Production ended in April 1955 superseded by the MGA.

Very pleased to pick this up in a junk/antique shop for very little (£20 UKP). Rare to find one in black, when I googled it the only photo I could find of someone using a black one was George Harrison. His sold at auction recently. The dedicated coupled light meter came from eBay, £6. Light seals were non existant so changed them and the mirror damper.

Apologies that this photos not up to its usual standard

I wouldn't normally capture a Toledo, however this one struck me for two reasons. Firstly, it's remarkably clean and secondly it's the rare V5 model. Showing 90k in March.
