“Behind every sweet smile, there is a bitter sadness that no one can ever see and feel.”

Quote — Tupac Shakur

From my archives.

The Rose That Grew From Concrete

Did you hear about the rose that grew

from a crack in the concrete?

Proving nature's law is wrong it

learned to walk with out having feet.

Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,

it learned to breathe fresh air.

Long live the rose that grew from concrete

when no one else ever cared.

Every day starts with great expectations; but every day ends with some experience. And experience teaches us to manage expectations. Good Night. - Anon

Mysterious white newspaper box, with a cover of Tupac Shakur @ Yonge & Dundas. No identifying labels on the box whatsoever. An obscure art project? A Project for black history month?

My drawing of Tupac Shakur for Day 20 of Caricature Resolution 2018.

My twist on a pop art style portrait of Tupac Shakur.

Two key 1990s rappers who were murdered way too early.

Tupac Shakur is in the foreground; born in East Harlem and later based out of Oakland, he was shot to death in 1996 at age 25 in Las Vegas.

In the background is Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher George Latore Wallace), another New York native. He was the East Coast standard-bearer in the East Coast - West Coast hip-hop feud of the time; he was killed in a Los Angeles drive-by shooting in early 1997 at age 24. Sean "Puffy" Combs eulogized him a few months later with his song "I'll Be Missing You," which sampled The Police's "Every Breath You Take" heavily.

Madame Tussaud's - always a tacky tourist trap, but also always a good place to test my portrait photography skills - and my prime lens (35mm f/1.8).
