These hands have touched, supported, nurtured, cherished and loved each other every day for the last 63 years. They continue to do so tonight in the spring weather sitting outside, listening to the songs of the season's change.

Give a horse what she needs and she will give you her heart in return. They say a horse is a mirror to your soul --well, I like what I see in the mirror, this mare is solid and dependable who always brings me home safely.
I remember one time in the mountains we saw a cougar, I was the only one still seated in the saddle in the aftermath of it all, everyone else was left to walk back to camp after their horses dumped them and ran off and I don't ride her with a bit in her mouth.
This was taken with my iPhone right after she came out the trailer with that "where the heck am I look" I asked her to stand. I train my horses with words and love from my heart..

The site covers an area of 34,941 m² and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission provides maintenance. The cemetery was designed by Herbert Baker in collaboration with John Truelove. A wall of black flint stones, covered with white natural stone, surrounds him. The entrance building is also made of black flint. At the back is the semi-circular Tyne Cot Memorial with the names of 33,783 missing British soldiers and, in a separate apse, another 1,176 missing New Zealanders.
There is a pavilion at each end of the Memorial Wall. Central to the site is the Cross of Sacrifice, built on top of a bunker that served as a German command post before the conquest. The Stone of Remembrance is at the back, between the Memorial to the missing and the Cross of Sacrifice. Two bunkers are located at the front of the cemetery, two others are located at the back, under the pavilions along both sides of the Memorial Wall.
In the entrance building is the box containing the register with the names and location of the graves. There is also a Visitors book in which you can write a message. On the outside of the entrance three plaques hang in Dutch, French and English. They mention this text: "This land was donated to the allied troops by the Belgian people for eternity, in gratitude for their efforts". This cemetery is an Open Cemetery, that is to say that remains of the surrounding battlefields can still be buried. In October 2002, one last dead was buried.
11,957 dead were buried, 8,369 of whom could no longer be identified.

Deze begraafplaats is een Open Cemetery, d.w.z. dat er nog stoffelijke resten uit de omringende slagvelden kunnen bijgezet worden. In oktober 2002 werd nog een laatste dode begraven.
Er liggen 11.957 doden begraven, waarvan 8.369 niet meer geïdentificeerd konden worden.
