BD Covert 22L w/ Ava-Lung

Definitely a 3F fit. This is basically all the gear I would ever take on a day trip. It all fits fine. Usually I leave some of it behind. I can also fit a small lunch bag in the pack. Probably cannot fit much more. Note you cannot completely zip up the shoulder zip if you use the hydration tubes with a 90 bit valve. This means if you are skiing the hose valve will freeze in about 2 runs w/o drinking. I use it to lap at the resort and take day tours. It is tight for day trips but do-able. I usually ski in a soft shell and I have to sling that to the back b/c it does not fit w/ the rest of this gear in it.

Dakine Crossfire Glove

I bought them on steep and cheap for under 20 bucks. A solid choice for the approach. I never notice any wind or water (have not been hit w/ rain yet) and my hands do not overheat. They have a nice cuff the keeps the elements out. They have very little padding. I usually need to change to my work gloves once the temp drops below 20-25 degrees while skinning.

Kinkos

I treated these bad boys with a finish like sno-seal. Overall this my go to glove. I use them at the resort, building snow caves/pits, and on the down. The gloves cost $12 and keep me warm. I can have my hands working in heavy snow and they do not wet out. I have not tested wet snow, but im guessing ..not so much.

OR Moon Pile gloves and Pac-lite Mittens

These are my back up gloves. I keep these dry. I use them for the same thing alpine climbing. In my opinion gloves cannot bring numb fingers back to life. I wish OR made moon pile mitten liners too.

BD Icon Light

I had some quality issues when I first starting using this light. I had to send two back that just stopped working in the field. I was not happy about that. Talked to the BD rep and their defect rate is supposedly very low and equal to other similar products. Anyway I have not had any problems since them. Here are the 2011 specs:

Max Distances : 100 m (TriplePower LED), 23 m (4 SinglePower LEDs)

Max Burn Time :145 H (TriplePower LED), 164 H (4 SinglePower LEDs)

Weight Without Batteries :116 g, 4.1 oz

So mine is from 2009. I dont know how much has changed buy you are not going to see anything 100 m away. I put it more at 60 m. Ha, I know im ragging on this thing but it is the best headlight I have owned. Its powerful and I like the option to use rechargable or batteries. There is one button for all of the light function /on/off. Its a bit annoying at first but once you learn the clicks the button is easy to use even with thick gloves and is better then having several buttons to deal with. Check out the reviews at bc.com, well loved.
