3/21/2012.

I didn't get a good photo all day, so at home I found inspiration in a hand written letter that had been given to me. The content of the letter was revealing and honest, among other things, and it compelled me to explore that concept of openness and candidness through photography. I set up a makeshift black backdrop in my spare room and with minimal lighting wanted to create a very raw, yet revealing image.

from daisy day last wednesday (quotidie 112).

the first time we went to the daisy (a part of a massive field behind the school) i couldn't stop myself from gushing. spotted this tree and made a beeline for it.

transparency because this tree is easy to see. figure out. it's pretty and lets the sun peek through and its shadows move. we sit in the edges of the shade, because some of us want shade and some of us want the sun.

transparency, unlike the other tree about 40m from it, it's mysterious and unleashed a swarm of bees the second time (quotidie 114) we were there:

(talking about beaches)

sam: did you take lots of pictures?

me: *lying on the ground, turns head to respond* oh h--- *sees black and yellow flying things behind sam* --HOLY SHIT! BEES!

james: RUNNNNNNNN!!!!!

i have to name this tree soon.

The waves in Hawaii were just amazing. The colors, the power and the size were awesome! This one is probably 6-8 feet above the surface of the water.

A casual stop for some rest while driving turned out to bring me this gift of nature.
