This is an extensively delayed project that got a final go when the rumours of the upcoming 10302 started to circulate on the LEGO underground community. I wanted to post some pictures of my MOC before the official announcement of the set... but the delay on the Bricklink orders with the parts I was missing didn't made it possible.

I wanted to capture the aesthetic of the G1 cartoons and the 1x3x2 window determined the scale.

Getting source material from 1980's cartoons is a total nightmare! In one scene you will have a specific element in silver... on the next scene that element is gone... and on the next scene that same element is back but it's red.
Tintin and Snowy accidentally stumbled upon Decepticon's lunar dome base, when they travelled to the moon!

After building Optimus Prime the next logical step was to build Megatron. =)
---
Unfortunately due to what he transforms into it's unlikely that LEGO will make a version of the leader of the Decepticons... but hey... we can dream, can't we?
---
Once again... getting source material from the cartoons was not easy... in the same episode Megatron's chest "coloured buttons" are represented in 3 or 4 different configurations.
Outdoor shot taken in Jones Beach on a sunny and windy afternoon. I was debating driving to Coney Island to take the photo, but I chose a location a little more desolate to avoid tourists. For this shot in particular, I traveled to a small sand dune and used a mini tripod with my camera a few inches away from the subjects. The three Jawas are original Kenner figures that I had since I was a pre-teen in the '90s, and the Megatron is in fact an authentic G1 figure with his true Walther P-38 as an alternate mode. The Megatron was already in bad shape with missing parts, peeled stickers, and cracked paint, hence I didn't mind getting it covered in some sand. I used a flash to fill the shot, since the sun backlit the Jawas.

You didn't think I was gonna leave out Transformers did you?
Arcee was introduced in the '87 Transformers flick (which if you haven't seen it go do so NOW) and was ushered in alongside fellow Autobot newcomers such as Kup, Springer and Blurr as sort of the 'new' generation of characters after Megatron and the Decepticons killed a good part of the more familiar supporting cast. After the film her character was carried over into the third and final season of the Sunbow cartoon.
Unfortunately this is about it as far as a non-exclusive G1 Arcee figure goes and is only about 2 1/2 inches high. Perhaps we'll see one in the Classics line at some point.
Rachet: "Be careful, Spike. Don't come too close, this virus is very contagious for humans."
My personal tribute to honor all the medical and healthcare personals for their brave and tireless efforts in the fight against the Covic-19 pandemic. Like everyone else, I hope a vaccine can be found soon and bring this pandemic under control.
P.S: That's actually my cat's favorite rubber ball btw.
