«Wie Digitalisierung Transport und Logistik verändern wird» war heute Mittag das Thema des Bühnenmagazins «Intelligente Welt» bei einem gut besuchten Forum in Halle B2 auf der transport logistic 2017.
«Intelligente Welt – das Bühnenmagazin» ist eine gemeinsame Initiative des Bundesministeriums für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur (BMVI) in Deutschland und des Branchenverbandes BITKOM in Zusammenarbeit mit der unabhängigen Online-Plattform ift.tt/2qnw2Mc . Auf verschiedenen Messen werden wie in einem TV-Magazin verschiedene Kurzinterviews, Einspielfilme und Präsentationen gezeigt. Auch heute stellte der Moderator Christian Spanik verschiedene Gäste, Filme und Themen rund um die intelligente Welt im Kontext der transport logistic auf seiner Bühne in Halle B2 vor.
Intermodale Verkehrskonzepte in der Logistik spielten dabei ebenso eine Rolle wie völlig neue Denkansätze im Zusammenhang mit der Lieferkette vom Produzenten bis zum Endverbraucher. Von Big Data und Digitalisierung bis zu autonomen Fahrzeugen und neuen Geschäftsmodellen wurde der Bogen gespannt. Was allerdings zu kurz kam: Die konkreten Digitalisierungsansätze der Güterbahnen in Europa.
Vernetzte Container machen Lieferkette transparent
Über das Thema «Supply Chain Visibility» sprach Florence Delande Henrichs, Head of Business Unit Rail bei Traxens im französischen Marseille: «Der Container ist bisher bei den Digitalisierungskonzepten zu kurz gekommen». Die Lösung seien Trackingsysteme mit Funk-Sensoren, mit denen jederzeit ein Container-Standort ermittelt werden kann. Wobei es erhebliche Kosten gebe, beispielsweise bei der Stromversorgung der Sensor-Sender. Ein intelligentes Konzept von Traxens könne die Batterielebensdauer der Geräte auf zehn Jahre erhöhen und gleichzeitig die Kosten reduzieren.

«Lediglich die Hälfte der Logistiker in Deutschland will ihr Geschäftsmodell digitalisieren», berichtete Dr. Christian Grotemeier, Leiter Forschung bei der Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL), über die Ergebnisse einer aktuellen Studie des Verbandes. Damit holte er die Teilnehmer des Forums angesichts der vielen Schlagworte zum Thema auf der Messe wieder etwas auf den Boden der Realität zurück. Allerdings wolle er sich vorrangig mit der anderen Hälfte der Branche beschäftigen, die bereits die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt hätten.
Die zu erwartenden Veränderungen der Wertschöpfungsketten spielte dabei ebenso eine Rolle wie künftige Qualifizierungsanforderungen an die Logistiker. In fünf Jahren – so die Überzeugung des Talk-Gastes – werde sich das Bild bei einer ähnlichen Umfrage deutlich verändert haben. «Wir glauben, dass es ohne Digitalisierung mit der Logistik nicht weitergehen wird», so Grotemeiers Fazit.

Die Digitalisierung beschäftigt auch die Logistik sehr stark. In seiner Studie «2016 logistics study on digital business models» untersucht das Beratungsunternehmen Roland Berger, welche digitalen Geschäftsmodelle in Zukunft in der Branche möglich sind und welche Massnahmen die Unternehmen vor diesem Hintergrund heute ergreifen sollten.
Von den befragten 300 Logistikunternehmen und -dienstleistern in 19 Ländern war sich die überwiegende Mehrzahl (95%) einig: Die Digitalisierung wird die Logistikbranche teilweise oder sogar vollständig verändern. «Einige digitale Geschäftsmodelle in der Logistik existieren bereits, und weitere werden folgen», heisst es in der Studie. Nach Ansicht der Roland Berger-Experten wird es künftig voraussichtlich vier Gruppen von Marktteilnehmern geben:
Buchungs- und Optimierungsplattformen werden das traditionelle Geschäftsmodell von Transportunternehmen stark verändern. Mit Online-Plattformen können einfache Transporte künftig viel effizienter und kostengünstiger abgewickelt werden. Durch die direkte Vernetzung der Kunden mit Logistikdienstleistern lassen sich die Abwicklung und die Transportkapazitäten optimieren und die Frachtkosten sinken. Um gemeinsam als neutraler Plattformanbieter agieren zu können, sollten Logistikunternehmen daher Kooperationsmodelle prüfen.
Frachtführer (dazu gehören auch die Güterbahnen) und Terminalbetreiber werden weiterhin entscheidender Teil der Wertschöpfungskette sein. Sie müssen künftig aber Grössenvorteile und neueste Technologien nutzen, um Auslastung und Kosten zu optimieren. Sie sollten zudem spezielle Frachtpakete schnüren, um nicht nur von den Aufträgen der Buchungsplattformen abhängig zu sein. So können vor allem Firmen mit einfachen Logistikketten, z.B. im Shuttle-Verkehr, die Buchungsgebühren der Plattformen einsparen.
Supply Chain-Spezialisten werden auch weiterhin komplexe Lieferprozesse, die ein industriespezifisches Know-how erfordern, abwickeln. Um die immer komplexeren Lieferketten effizienter und transparenter zu gestalten, müssen auch solche spezialisierten Nischenanbieter ihre Prozesse stärker automatisieren.
Service Provider stellen Softwareprodukte und Lösungen für die Sammlung und systematische Auswertung grosser Datenmengen sowie weitere digitale Dienstleistungen zur Verfügung. Das Angebot reicht von Online-Bezahlsystemen über GPS-Trackingsysteme bis hin zu automatisierter Zollabwicklung. Als Kernstück der digitalen Logistik machen sie mit ihren innovativen Produkten die elektronische Abwicklung von Geschäften in der Logistik überhaupt erst möglich.
Noch – so die Studie – sei unklar, wer die verschiedenen Rollen künftig einnehmen wird. Die Entscheidung, künftig als Frachtführer, Terminalbetreiber oder Supply Chain-Spezialist zu fungieren, hänge vor allem vom heutigen Geschäftsmodell und der Marktpositionierung ab. Um die Chancen des digitalen Wandels für sich zu nutzen, müssten Logistikfirmen daher schnell einen «digitalen Fahrplan» entwickeln.
Dabei sollten sie im ersten Schritt ihren potenziellen Umsatz- und Gewinnverlust durch neue digitale Geschäftsmodelle ermitteln. Entsprechend müssten dann die künftige strategische Ausrichtung festgelegt und die passenden Massnahmen definiert werden. «Darüber hinaus sollte im Sinne einer digitalen Transformation ein Umdenken sowohl beim Management von IT-Projekten als auch in den Unternehmen selbst stattfinden», empfiehlt die Roland-Berger-Studie. Besonders wichtig sei dabei, die Positionierung gegenüber den Online-Plattformen klar zu definieren und gegebenenfalls Kooperationspartner für den Aufbau einer eigenen Plattform zu suchen.
