The most commonly asked question about DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is, "Why didn't she just leave?" which I answer clearly on my blog of the same title, which can be read on my Amazon Author Page at bit.ly/thebeastiloved And for those involved in an abusive relationship, I recommend the other blog on that page, "Don't Believe the Con Man" which spells out clearly why you must leave those relationships immediately.

From Amazon reviews for THE BEAST I LOVED: A Battered Woman's Desperate Struggle to Survive. "This is a very intense book. I rarely find one that I can't just put down. I kept reading and when I had to attend to something, I would do it and go right back to the book. I wish I could give it more than five stars!" Karen, May 20, 2018.

This Charming Man is the second hour of stand up from comedian Sian Davies, winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award 2022 and Best Debut Show at Leicester Comedy Festival 2020.

“A very funny observational stand-up … imagine a queer Peter Kay with more emotional literacy and a quiff like young Morrissey.” (The Evening Standard)

Funny Woman runner up (2019) and Hilarity Bites best newcomer winner (2018), Sian is a regular on the comedy circuit. She has performed at festivals, theatres, clubs and arts centres across the UK and supported Fern Brady on tour.

“Simultaneously warm and sharp, she’s what Jason Manford would be if he was a Liverpudlian lesbian, with a broad appeal and snappy jokes.” (Chortle)

Where do you go when your role models let you down? Join award-winning comedian and jumped-up pantry boy Sian on a journey through masculinity and gender identity via Salford Lads Club (puncture repair kit not included).

Sian loves men. But she has a toxic relationship with all her male role models.

The men she has admired throughout her life have done nothing but let her down. But why did she idolise them in the first place? And where do we draw the line?

An exploration of masculinity, gender and identity packed full of nostalgic pop culture references and queer joy. Delivered by a self-identifying butch woman who has an unhealthy obsession with The Smiths.

Directed by Elf Lyons and supported by Homotopia.

'Compelling and distinctive.' (Scotsman)

It’s impossible to know with certainty what goes on behind closed doors, but there are some telltale signs of emotional abuse and domestic violence. If you witness these warning signs of abuse in a friend, family member, or co-worker, take them very seriously.

Domestic violence is the worst thing about our society. Thousands of women are facing this violence in her life. This is not easy to handle when it comes from your partner.many of books on domestic violence, but "The Beast I Loved: A Battered Woman's Desperate Struggle to Survive" is the shocking true story of survival and the intense bond June shared with her pathologically violent husband, a monster who physically and sexually tortured, degraded, and dominated her so relentlessly that she refused to believe he was dead even after she killed him.

Activists with Rainforest Action Network took on Chase Bank lobbies in Manhattan on February 14, 2019 to deliver a "Valentine's Singing Telegram" to shame CEO Jamie Dimon for funding private prisons and fossil fuels, on a day of action against Wall Street's largest funder of both industries. Idea No. 489: Toxic.

🌵

What does a toxic relationship look like? Is it only with lovers? Or can it be a family member or friend? Why do we cause ourselves to nurture the very thing that hurts us? Is it because of societal pressure? Ignorance? Or because we feel as humans we can help it grow into something different? But that’s the thing; a cactus, even though it can grow flowers, still has thorns.

🌵

I thankfully, to my knowledge, have never been in a toxic relationship. So for me, when I see others in one, I don't understand it...but that's exactly the point I guess. I've never had those thorns stuck in me. I had a student this past year who on a daily basis described how abusive her boyfriend was to her verbally, and that's part of the reason I came up with this idea (they broke up I believe).

🌵

This is another exciting photo for me due to it being taken at #saguaronationalpark ! I was hesitant to try and Photoshop two different scenes together, months apart, but I love the way it turned out 😁 I have several others from other parks too! Summer ends for me this week, but I'm hoping to ramp up the photo taking. Cheers!

Very often couples go to marital counseling when they consider that everything is over and that there is nothing to do about their relationship although they still love each other. Here we can talk about toxic relationships.

Toxic relationships are those where partners have misunderstandings...
