Eigentlich wollte ich euch heute etwas neues zeigen und bin nach der Arbeit nochmal auf Tour gegangen.
Ich hätte das Wetter checken sollen.
Ich bin bei strahlend blauem Himmel los und war gerade genau an der abgelegensten Stelle zwischen zwei Dörfern, zu Fuß, ohne Jacke, ohne Tasche, kein Haus weit und breit, als das Gewitter losging und mit ihm der heftigste Regen, den ich je unter freiem Himmel miterleben durfte.
Als der Hagel dazu kam, hab ich mich in einem Wäldchen unter einem großen Baum untergestellt, bis mir einfiel, daß das bei Gewitter vielleicht nur die zweitbeste Idee ist.
Als der Regen nicht nachliess, wollte ich jemanden anrufen, mich einzusammeln.
Wieder was gelernt: Smartphones mit Touchdisplay sind bei Starkregen nicht die seltenen Erden wert, die darin verbaut sind.
Minuten später kam tatsächlich ein Auto vorbei und ich sprinte klitschnass aus meinem Wäldchen und winke hektisch.
Die allein fahrende Frau am Steuer hat bei der Abwägung der Umstände zu meinen Ungunsten entschieden und fuhr weiter.
Da ich sowieso schon bis auf die Knochen nass war, entschloss ich mich, weiter zu gehen und eine Unterführung ca. 1 KM weiter aufzusuchen.
Ich hätte den Weg auch schwimmen können, so tief, wie die Pfützen und Bäche auf dem Weg waren.
Lange Rede kurzer Sinn: Auch der heftigste Regen lässt irgendwann nach und ich bin wieder wohlbehalten zu hause angekommen.
Meine Kamera allerdings fand das Abenteuer nicht ganz so gut und möchte jetzt nicht mehr auslösen.
Ich hab sie jetzt mal zum Trocknen aufgehängt und hoffe, daß sie nach ein bisschen Zeit wieder anspringt.
Ansonsten muss ich wohl ein Spendenkonto einrichten, oder es bleibt hier für längere Zeit etwas ruhiger.

So i wanted to show you something new today, so i went on a little hike after work yesterday.
It didn't go quite as planned, so here's just another shot of these lovely flowers i found on the forest floor the other day.
In case you wonder what happened:
I left the house for my hike with clear blue skies and was just about at the most remote spot between two villages. on foot, without a jacket, without camera bag, no house for miles, when the storm began and with it came the heaviest rain I've ever experienced out in the open.
When the hail came, I parked myself under a large tree in a little grove, until I remembered that perhaps it's only the second best idea to hide under trees during a thunderstorm.
The rain didn´t seem to ever stop so I wanted to call someone to drive me.
lesson learned: smartphones with touch screen are not worth the rare earths, theyy're made of during heavy rain.
Minutes later a car passed and I ran out of the grove, soaking wet and waving frantically.
Needless to say, the lone female driver, after carefully weighing the circumstances, decided against me and drove on.
Since I was soaking wet anyway, I decided to go further to seek an underpass about 1 KM ahead.
i might´ve as well put on a bathing suit for that last kilometer as the puddles had a depth, one could easily drown in.
Long story short: I waited for the rain to end under that bridge, trying to find the one cigarette in my pack, the rain had not completely drenched and made it home completely soaked but safely.
My camera did not have that much fun and does not want to trigger now.
I've hung her up to dry, and hope that it'll work again after some time.
Otherwise I probably have to apply for a donation account , or it'll get a little more quite around here.

You can think of the design as a picture frame, where extruded aluminum planks are cut at an angle and screwed into cast corners. A sheet metal aluminum back plate is then attached to the frame. This novel manufacturing method utilizing extruded aluminum and cast corners for digital displays is patent pending.
