I was walking to the grocery store when I saw this sitting on the sidewalk. It was outside a couple large car lots, across from the Kmart that has been downtown here longer than it should. It seemed so perfect there, like it was someones bedside table. Alarm clock, wallet, toothbrush, placed so purposefully there. I was scared to touch it, it seemed so private, like a shrine to sleeping and waking up in this town. I left it there. I did not lay a finger on them. When I came back from the store they were gone, except for the toothbrush.
