Flex shaft tool in the holder in the truss. After further consideration, I really didn't like the idea of the shaft hanging down over the workbench

It did hang in that location well but just wasn't an ideal location.

Initial plan was to store the tool on the shop roof trusses so I made this holder to test that idea

Top drawer with one purchased (left, lower) and four 3D printed drawer organizers. The back three organizers were printed with the Bambu printer, the bottom right was the last print job that the Airwolf Axiom printer successfully printed. Some of the items in the tool chest were moved from the workbench storage drawers to put all tools in a single location. This is going to be much more efficient.

The tool chest as delivered. I had to take the loader to the truck, he didn't want to come down my driveway.

It was well packaged for shipping

Tool tray and remainder of the box. This has been a faithful tool, it just isn't efficient. It's great for working on something outside of the shop and will be kept for that purpose.

Digging through the tool tray looking for the right size wrench really does waste a lot of time.

I got a new wrench set for the tool chest and will keep these wrenches in the tool box for when I need to take tools with me.

Tool box that I have been using for years.

Socket set organized in one of the drawers. The Gearwrench foam trap mats work really well for organizing the sockets. This was a Craftsman socket set purchased while traveling several years ago. Some Husky parts have been added to make the Craftsman set complete and useful. The blow-molded case the Craftsman set arrived in was stored in a place appropriate for the case -- the trash. One couldn't open the case without the sockets falling out of their respective holders. It's been a while since I have taken so much pleasure in throwing something in the trash.

Wrench set and other tools in another drawer. It is so nice just going to the appropriate slot for a wrench instead of rifling around a tool box looking for the right wrench.

Screwdrivers, pliers, nut drivers, and cutters in another drawer.

Added a Gear Wrench tool chest to the wood shop. For years I have been using a plain tool box in my woodshop for various tools. It has served well but searching for the needed wrench size or other tool in a tool tray is quite inefficient. I decided it was time to upgrade to a tool chest. After researching various options, I opted for this Gear Wrench chest from Acme Tools. Other tool chests I looked seemed flimsy; this seemed to be the better built of those I looked at. I wanted a small chest to fit in a specific location in the shop. I plan to use the top for a sharpening station.

I also got set of combination wrenches for this chest and will keep the set of wrenches in the original toolbox to use when I need tools for tractor repair or other outdoor work. I had a Craftsman socket set that I got several years ago when we were cleaning out my father-in-law’s place and I needed some tools he didn’t have. Like all things Craftsman, the set was disappointing and the blow-molded case was an abomination. I supplemented what the socket set lacked with some Husky brand additions and put the blow molded case in the trash where it belonged.

The pictures show the organization of the chest and the trays that I 3D printed for the top drawer. Right now, the bottom drawer is not in use — this is for future use.

Very happy with this addition to the shop. It is such a joy to just go to a drawer for the tool needed rather than having to go rifling through a tool tray trying to find the right sized wrench or other tool.

After assembly. Easy to assemble and well built. I'm a happy camper.

I decided to try something a little bit different and add an ogee curve to the sides on this piece. Found a very good instruction on how to do ogee curves at www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyRKtTF35bc. I took the instructions and translated them to be used in VariCAD, the 3D CAD program that I use for my designs. Will further expand on this in some of my future project postings. I'm reasonably happy with how the curves turned out.
