My old pal and I messing, trying out shots, and I came away with this image of his Gibson Les Paul which I like. I am drawn to the burnished colours partially, but primarily to the solid engineering excellence of it. I took the shot with the intention of a mono conversion which I did, and I like, but I couldn't deny those colours!

Day 1 — From our postponed and overdue vacation. Disney seems to do most things right, and COVID safety is no exception. It was a great time with minor changes to routines and lines, but otherwise a magical time as always.

Tony was walking his dogs along by the river in Stamford, Lincolnshire, UK. He very kindly agreed to pose for my 100 strangers project. I tried to use the whole frame to emphasise the portrait. I did crop a tiny fraction and apply a slight softening, among other little tweeks.
Tomorrow evening a band led by Woody Woodmansey and Tony Visconti called Holy Holy will play their first gig of their East Coast US tour. This was Tony's stage sheet from their tour earlier in 2015. I wish them well!

A driver named Reno and a guide name Anton Julio picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off near Faro della Punta Carena, one enf of the Sentiero dei Fortini. Anton Julio is a keen naturalist, explaining not only the history of the blockhouses along the path, but the local fauna and flora. We stopped here overlooking a vacated villa with an empty pool, and he told us this villa had belonged to a drug smuggler or mobster, or if if the translation was a bit off, I imagine a character of similar ilk.

I took this posed, informal street portrait of him a few years earlier at Liverpool Pier Head
L555 heads into the siding at the Tony log transload facility. This operation was recently established to move the log loading out of downtown Ladysmith, and it brought at least a little bit of traffic to the dormant Bradley Sub.
