One perk of having jetlag is that I get to experience the calm of early mornings in a way that I never do back home - and this was true again for the year's trip to Japan. It really is a special feeling to see a metropolis wake up, and being more or less alone while doing so (apart from a jogger or two).
Taken from Takeshiba Pier with a view towards the Sumida river as it works its way down to Tokyo bay. The bridge is Tsukiji Great Bridge - connecting the old mainland and the reclaimed land that is the area Tsukiji (constructed in the 18th century in what was once the marshy river delta - the name Tsukiji literally means reclaimed, or constructed, land).

View from Tokyo World Trade Center.
The building I visited here in 2018 was closed in 2021 for demolition and replacement with a new, modern building. This one was built in 1971.
And no U.F.O, just some reflections in the window.

At Shiba kōen.
Kōen (公園) is Japanese for public park, and Shiba kōen is both the name of a park (once quite big, now preserved in smaller enclaves among the modern buildings) and an area of Shiba (named after said park). So this is Shiba kōen in Shiba kōen.
