An interesting read about communion.

Conder Token, satirical and ironic since the four men mentioned on its reverse side were prisoners at Newgate in the previous year. That they would redeem the tokens was imaginary. Yet the issue circulated widely, its intrinsic value undeniable and hard to turn down, being pure copper. All of the copper coinage of the day consisted of privately issued Conder Tokens, from 1787-1797 or so.

Dealing in flour, especially in photography, is a messy ordeal. I've wanted to try some kind of flour thing for a while, but never felt like dealing with the aftermath. Today I was playing around with my multi flash setup, and I needed something to make the shots a bit more interesting, so i threw a bit of flour into the air. Nothing extraordinary, but it's something I'll definitely try again!

I rarely took any photos when passing through this town of 100,000 (but no grocery store), but it had plenty of interesting sights - more streets than usual seemed to have things for sale spilling into them, and crowded with people every minute of the day. I have never quite figured out the economy in places like this, how the money flows. Farm income usually looks tiny because not everything is done with cash, but everybody has to sell some good or service to pay for necessities, and most people want some disposable income also. But everything seemed shipped in from someplace else - such as the chickens - so what is being produced?
