Tip
Sometimes natural light is more than enough.
So always also shoot some images with the available light it might be that you don't need the strobes ;)
Tip:
Focussed light can be incredibly powerful. You can of course use a snoot but in most cases this will still give a bit too much light. Don't be afraid to use cardboard to block off even more of the light and really only "paint" the light where you want it.
I haven't made a tip jar in over a year, the last one was getting old, bulky and too much...This one just came out of nowhere while digging thru inventory for Altered Things....Put it together and am honestly SHOCKED it works lol! keep it simple.

It was worth a few nettle stings to get this shot of mating Orange Tips. The male on the left, the female on the right.
It's taken me a long time to get a shot of a male orange tip with his wings open like this. As most of you will know they're always on the wing and rarely settled or they're found with their wings held upright when at rest. This one though obliged nicely allowing me the opportunity to take a few shots.

"This is Tipper he just got brought in and is ery scared, thats why he has his own cage, where he can get used to beeing with other cats and us from a save distance, she loves to be pat"
It's always a good idea to check the closet for creepy old men with a camera. They are usually harmless but can be a bit of a nuisance when you are trying to get to sleep.
Beautiful male Orange Tip on their favourite Cuckoo Flower.
Also notice the large water drops on his abdomen.
This is the first Orange-tip butterfly I've see this year, resting on a Pheasant's Eye (?) Narcissus. Taken at Brodsworth Hall garden earlier this month.
I posted another shot of this butterfly with it's wings closed at about 4pm (UK) yesterday and since then (over 22 hours ago) it's received very few views (just 12, at the moment), so I'm not sure if everyone can see it. Others have reported this sort of issue and I have seen it myself on previous occasions, so I've reported this to Flickr (as suggested on the help forum thread). I've left the original there to allow them to investigate. Please let me know if you can see the previous image too.
