No one has ever done anything grand by themself. Look around you. There’s a supporting cast. If you need help, ask for it. If you see that someone needs help, offer it.

Some of you may have seen my Dark Crystal sculpture and wondered how I made the moss. I took a palette knife and mixed the raw polymer clay with a bit of hand sanitizer until I got the right look. You can then add it to cooked or raw clay. if you need more texture...wait till the liquid evaporates and then use your tools or some sand paper. #tiptuesday #tutorial
Yeah its #tiptuesday ...normally speaking Lint could make Polymer clay artist cry (my fellow polymer clay artist will feel me on this) but the other day I decided to turn it into a friend. First idea was red veins. You can't see so well in the pictures but it is very effective. Have fun playing around with this
Making your own tools is also a great way to use scraps of clay. I have made a few of these types. One with needles in a cluster and one with needles in a row. You can even paint them after baking
I've made up a visual representation of some of the effects I use while sculpting. Obviously this can be done with all sorts of different colour combinations. Note: that chaulk is the only one here done before baking and I am using Super Sculpey on all expect for top left.

It's no secret that a key to being a successful athlete is a positive mindset, but how do we get there, get past the self doubt and keep a positive attitude throughout the year even when unplanned obstacles are thrown our way?

Here is the answer: Separate fact from fiction - The more you feed your negative thoughts, the more power you give them. Most of our negative thoughts are just that — thoughts, not facts.

When you find yourself believing the negative and pessimistic things your inner voice says, it’s time to stop and write them down. Once you’ve taken a moment to slow down the negative momentum of your thoughts, you will be more rational and clear-headed in evaluating their veracity. You are amazing and can crush any goals you dream of - you just have to believe!

Moon Sign
Right Turn “Clyde” series….
This was less than easy to do. Handheld long lens rested on the Ford Raptor’s open door, (Clever Girl herself) with the 48 inch Rigid LED light bar lighting up the reflective sign. The trick of course is to get back far enough to get both objects in the infinite focal length. Then you still have to place enough light on the sign…. Now I handicapped myself by sticking with the truck. I could have walked back another 100 yards with a monopod and still have the same light on the sign.. I’m not always tolerant of windy/cold and this was a windy/cold night. Taken about an hour and 20 minutes AFTER sunset, the only real sources of light was the 98 percent April (Pink) Moon and my headlight. That is a dark night sky behind.
There were stars but even this crazy high dynamic range camera couldn’t sense/see them. The clouds right around the moon that were lit up, made it into the cameras data stream. Getting any detail around a moon of such wispy clouds scantily covering a moon is not something I’m able to accomplish some nights. Very very iffy that process. .
This April 2020’s moon was every present for 4 photo-sessions in a row. I can’t remember a full moon interval where I’ve gotten to work it so much. The April supermoon, our orbiting partner was as close as it gets this year to the earth for this.

Going back in time for #tiptuesday This is where I had to try something different. I remembered when I saw the intro to the movie "Dinner for Schmucks" where Steve Carell's characters is making glasses for his mice. It was pure genius. Using the same idea I nailed one side of the silhouette I wanted my cage to be on a piece of old wood. some key points could have used a bigger nail but since I was using it for one project it wasn't really a big issue. Now I could get have consistency
