Last smile, last pure breath
fade with the last sunset
I shall go to a place
that I remember long ago
Soft endorphins soothe my mind
dancing shadows play
as I die.

Erice - The Cathedral Church ,
From Porta Trapani, one of the entrance to the city, it gets to via Vito Carvini and so to the Cathedral Church.
In front of it, an imposing bell-tower rises with two orders of gothic mullioned windows and it is crowned by merlons.
It supposes that the bell-tower originary has been built as a vedetta tower by Federico from Aragon in 1312 and only later it has been used as a bell-tower.

Native to North America, the indigenous people have been growing this lovely medicinal plant for its beauty and for its healing properties. Only this variety is used for cold and flu symptoms. The root must be at least 3 years old when dug up, ground to a fine pulp and added to wild honey, or as a tea: 1 heaping teaspoon of root pulp per 1 cup of water boiled in a stainless steel pot (not aluminum) pour over the root, and taken by the mouth. These days you can buy the tincture in an alcohol base and take a few drops in warm water.

Elderflower is famous for wild food, but it is delicious in cordials, champagne, and fritters It is also a fantastic medicine, being especially useful for any condition where there is congestion in the sinuses such as hay fever, colds, or sinusitis. It is diaphoretic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-catarrhal and can be prepared as tea, tincture, or a cold infusion.

This is my second image of Calendula, this time wide open. I looked up the name and it came back with this:
What is calendula used for?
The dried petals of the calendula plant are used in tinctures, ointments, and washes to treat burns, bruises, and cuts, as well as the minor infections they cause. Calendula also has been shown to help prevent dermatitis or skin inflammation in people with breast cancer during radiation therapy.

The term Geranium refers, in general, to a group of herbs and small shrubs of the genera Geranium and Pelargonium. It gathers about 300 species, many native to temperate and tropical regions of altitude, of which several are cultivated as ornamentals or for the extraction of tannins and tinctures.
Geranium can be divided into groups, such as: upright geranium; pending geranium; English geranium; fragrant geranium; herbaceous geranium and succulent geranium.
The photos presented in this series are from Pelargonium peltatum (pending geranium), Geraniums with narrow stems and leaves similar in shape to ivy are called “Ivy-leaved Geraniums” or “Pelargonium peltatum”. It behaves like a vine and the flowers have narrower petals and fewer floral heads.
The flowers can be single or folded and can be colored crimson, scarlet, salmon, pink and white. The strong colors and double flowers are the preference of the majority of the public in southern Brazil.

Exotic delicacy. I am totally nuts about them. As a child, I used to eat raw walnuts with the bitter thin skin, which can be easily removed. However, if you want to be healthy try to eat the way they are.
The yellow thin skin around the meat is slightly bitter, the brown one is delicious.
The thin skin around the meat, called the pellicle, contains tannin that is associated with promoting heart health.
Now, I know why we have never visited the doctor.
Use gloves to remove the green husks which can be used to make a tincture after sun drying them.

The ancient world, tell us a tale
You're talking about the PEONY, longevity and health of the flower…
A long time ago , the Greek God Aesculapius
And there was he, the king and god of the medical art,
There was a student, a capable young man named Peon,
Who was planted on the Olympus of the gods to heal.
One day the gloomy god Pluto appeared on Olympus
He entered into a terrible duel with Hercules,
He defended the gates to the Kingdom of the Dead and was wounded
In the shoulder, and very much bleeding.
Then the Peon began to heal Pluto diligently,
Although He was the Lord of death and the other world.
The supreme doctor is planted by Zeus to treat everyone,
And to give miraculous healing to the gods…
Oh, a miracle! Cured the shoulder with Peon tinctures,
And Aesculapius realized that he had been surpassed by a disciple for a long time
The young doctor was also glorified by Pluto,
Out of black envy, the teacher decided to poison the poor guy.
And the Snake held a venomous sting in itself
The rumor about this in the dungeon reached Pluto,
And the Gods gathered on Olympus, the conspiracy was revealed
The Peon doctor was turned into a medicinal flower.
PEONY is a beautiful and divine Peony! And to this day, He treats and heals us…

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck but it needs batteries, you probably have the wrong paradigm.

Taraxacum officinale, the dandelion or common dandelion, is a flowering herbaceous perennial plant of the dandelion genus in the family Asteraceae (syn. Compositae). The common dandelion is well known for its yellow flower heads that turn into round balls of many silver-tufted fruits that disperse in the wind. These balls are usually called "clocks" in both British and American English. The name "blowball" is also used.
Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is a plant often regarded as a weed but one that may offer health benefits by acting as a diuretic ("water pill") or potentially boosting the immune system to help fight infections. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties.1
Naturopaths and other alternative practitioners often contend that dandelion can help treat a wide range of medical conditions—including arthritis, liver disease, diabetes, obesity, and even cancer—although there is little scientific evidence to support the claims.
Dandelion comes in many different forms. Its greens can be eaten raw or cooked. It is also available in supplement form as tablets, capsules, tinctures, or liquid extracts.
Another take on my old glass bottles, small ones that maybe once held medicinal tinctures! Imperfect, leaning slightly, a broken rim ... it all adds to their charm! This time the morning sunshine through the window gave me so much bokeh ;o)
