Monday's snow is 99% gone

From above, the city pulses with light — a mosaic of glowing windows, electric billboards, and restless streets. Times Square becomes the beating heart of New York, casting its neon glow far into the night.

The ever rapid beating heart of New York City.

Times Square, New York City

The Times Square Building is an Art Deco skyscraper designed by Ralph Thomas Walker of the firm Voorhees, Gmelin, and Walker located in Rochester, New York, United States. At 260 feet (79 m), it is the eighth-tallest building in Rochester, with 14 floors. The former Genesee Valley Trust Building is a streamlined twelve-story building supporting four aluminum wings 42 feet (13 m) high, known as the "Wings of Progress",[1] each weighing 12,000 pounds (5,400 kg). These structures are among the most distinctive features of the Rochester skyline.[2] The trompe-l’oeil style is used for the decor throughout the building's interior and features various depictions of stylized wheat in reference to Rochester's presence as "the flour city". The building originally hosted a Depression era mural by Carl William Peters (1897-1980) on exhibit from its opening that was later destroyed.[3]

The cornerstone of this bank was laid on October 29, 1929, "Black Tuesday" of the 1929 stock market crash.

Shot taken from Top of the Rock in New York City, looking towards Times Square. The ball lit up in the photo with the 2018 sign below it is the famous ball that drops on New Year's Eve.

I'm finally getting around to processing some shots from last month. This was a rainy early morning just before sunrise.

FYI, Flickr is having trouble with replacing photos. The new photo does not display properly. I uploaded a version of this image last night and uploaded a replacement after I made some tweaks. I had to delete the first upload and create this new upload.

I found that the best way for me to good decent photos at Times Square was to take many photos and sort through them later, since the LCD displays are constantly changing. Here, I liked the abstract look of how the woman's head lined up with the top of her arm.
