F-18A super hornet dedication pass. If you zoom, you can see the double thumbs-up by the back seater. I also liked the evening light against the gray background in this picture.
In the early 2000's I was seconded to Microsoft as an accessibility specialist for a trade show (BETT) at Olympia in London. Spent a week at the show, and these thumb drives were the popular giveaway for visitors. Kept a couple for myself as souvenirs.
We were up very early, but there was nothing to eat yet, just coffee. After the thumbs-up by the driver, we changed that, picked Jane up, and then let ourselves be pampered.
All the stones in the foreground and everywhere else come from the mines around Satbayev. Almost all the railway workers are wearing helmets, because chunks of rock can easily fall from the side tippers.

. . . This had to be the best day in our week at Yellowstone! The snow was pure and fresh, the sun was out despite the -5 F temps, the geysers and wildlife were plentiful, and the lake was serene with no wind.
The road between Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon (via Yellowstone Lake) is often closed in the winter due to drifts and high winds coming off the lake, but not today!

This was a little celebratory shot I took a few years ago when I had just gotten over a bad eye injury, so what better way to enjoy that first drive than by hopping in a little blue Maserati GT Spyder V8. Definitely a two thumbs up day!
