With a thumbs up from the friendly hogger, also a friend of mine, repainted blue devil IC 2458 leads train 406, as they approach Passekeag, New Brunswick on a beautiful Fall afternoon.

The head man CN 393 seems to approve of my location at Lennoxville, Quebec even though it's a blatant violation to stand in the gauge. Notice the shine on the rails to the right. CPR would come from Sherbrooke,(behind me), to here and use those rails to go back to Sherbrooke to the CN in order to interchange cars. This was also the way to the Quebec Central to Newport, VT. VIA's Atlantic, which during CP years of operation would come straight through this diamond, travels via the CN from Montreal to Sherbrooke, and transverse those rails twice a day to get onto the CP track to go to and from Saint John. A note, all this needed a back up move through the interchange except when heading for Newport.

. . . This had to be the best day in our week at Yellowstone! The snow was pure and fresh, the sun was out despite the -5 F temps, the geysers and wildlife were plentiful, and the lake was serene with no wind.
The road between Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon (via Yellowstone Lake) is often closed in the winter due to drifts and high winds coming off the lake, but not today!

While taking few pictures when we were going down the escalator in London Bridge, I found this gem in my take. A guy giving me the thumbs up while trying to capture the picture. I couldn't see him well as I was just focusing on the people in front of me, but I was lucky to capture the moment.

Anything that eats hundreds of mosquitoes daily gets a thumbs up from me. Taken at Carlisle Lake in Onalaska, Washington using an iPhone 14 Pro. Took around 20 minutes to get it to perch on my thumb.

The Devil's Thumb is the rock tower on the Continental Divide, at 12,150 feet. It is a scenic climbing destinations, with views of both the eastern and western slopes, and a view of Devil's Thumb Lake, 1,000 feet below the summit of the tower.
A dawn shot from the porch of the Lodge at Devil's Thumb Ranch, at 8,333 feet, on the western slope, near Tabernash, Colorado. DTR maintains miles of groomed trails for classic and skate cross country skiing, bicycling, and snowshoeing.
