Here’s what happened……
From up on high two pieces of bread Mr Crow does spy, a fast low pass bold as brass - two for me and none for thee. Down he swoops and up he scoops, into the beak and hoppity hop across the grass he flits, hippety hop behind the wee evergreen tree and out the other side.Hey presto - one in the beak and one in the bush, off he flies low swift and away, elegance and greed avarice and speed, up and awayready to return later this day. All for me and none for thee, all for me and none for thee…..
But what’s this!?! From out of the shrubs a little grey head does poke, swivel to the left swivel to the right….skippety-hop bippety bop, Secret Squirrel, the wily rapscallion and his magic eye….quick to the tree, round the back out the other side in his mitt the glory prize. Chitter chitter chitter, skippety-hop and bippety bop, up on the stone this my throne! Nibble nibble nibble ….King of the castle am I Mr Crow, King of the castle me and my eye, one for me and no more for thee, flap your wings and head on East, don’t turn round for this now my feast, King is I and this my throne, flap flap flap and don’t come back I’ve eaten your snack so off you pack! Nibble nibble nibble, chitter chitter chitter….…King is I, and magic my eye!

This is known as the Alien's Throne, nestled in the Valley of Dreams in the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness, New Mexico. This was taken at dusk during our pre-evening scouting.

Lighting the rugged and surreal territory around the Alien Throne in the Valley of Dreams is an unforgettably intense experience. Only few people end up there and at night you are completely alone while you illuminate the stage for your photography.
The Houses of York and Lancaster....1455-1485...not much of a game about it though...

Mossy Throne - Recently, I had a dream encounter of a Gray Fox kit relaxing in a mossy Bigleaf Maple in the wilderness. Despite seeing several Gray Foxes over the years, I never had the opportunity to photograph kits before, let alone in a tree.
Gray Foxes fascinate me because they are the oldest extant lineage of canid (which means they branched off from other canids the longest time ago). They are not closely related to red foxes and consume more berries/vegetation than their more carnivorous distant relative. They also have several other unique adaptations and behaviors such as semi-retractile claws and tree-climbing.
It was challenging to expose the fox's eyes and avoid blowing the background - but I tried my best to do so real time. Special thanks to a good friend for making this opportunity possible.

Interesting finding in abandoned village. Chair with an emblem of "State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs".
A short lived state, formed after dissolve of Austrian empire in the 1918. It consisted of former imperial teritorries of Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia.
It existed for only 33 days, before being annexed by the Kingdom of Serbia, to form a new state called Yugoslavia.

Tamar the Great (Georgian: თამარ მეფე) (c. 1160 – 18 January 1213) reigned as the Queen of Georgia from 1184 to 1213, presiding over the apex of the Georgian Golden Age. A member of the Bagrationi dynasty, her position as the first woman to rule Georgia in her own right was emphasized by the title mepe ("king"), afforded to Tamar in the medieval Georgian sources.
Tamar was proclaimed heir and co-ruler by her reigning father George III in 1178, but she faced significant opposition from the aristocracy upon her ascension to full ruling powers after George's death. Tamar was successful in neutralizing this opposition and embarked on an energetic foreign policy aided by the decline of the hostile Seljuq Turks. Relying on a powerful military élite, Tamar was able to build on the successes of her predecessors to consolidate an empire which dominated the Caucasus until its collapse under the Mongol attacks within two decades after Tamar's death.
Tamar was married twice, her first union being, from 1185 to 1187, to the Rus' prince Yuri, whom she divorced and expelled from the country, defeating his subsequent coup attempts. For her second husband Tamar chose, in 1191, the Alan prince David Soslan, by whom she had two children, George and Rusudan, the two successive monarchs on the throne of Georgia.
Tamar's association with the period of political and military successes and cultural achievements, combined with her role as a female ruler, has led to her idealization and romanticization in Georgian arts and historical memory. She remains an important symbol in Georgian popular culture.

A scene from a theatrical performance at the holiday of Tbilisi (city day - Tbilisoba, თბილისობა) in the capital of Georgia. The actress of theatre of the pantomime depicts Queen Tamar.
Tutankhamun became pharaoh in 1332 BC at the age of eight or nine and died just nine years later. He was probably the son of the heretic pharaoh Akhenaten who had caused turmoil in the land by replacing worship of the state god Amun by the god Aten only accessible through him. Akhenaten's reign was followed by the restoration of the rival priests of Amun. The boy Tutankhamun was in the middle of the infighting.
This throne illustrates the religious conflict. The backrest shows the young pharaoh with his wife Ankhesenamun. But they are bathed by the rays of the Aten god rather than being blessed by Amun. The throne was therefore made before the restoration of Amun and the names of the pair were then Tut-ankh-aten ("Living image of Aten" and Ankh-esenpa-aten ("she lives for the Aten").
That such blasphemous imagery was buried with him in the days of Amun speaks of the unexpectedness of his early death and perhaps a wish by the Amun priests to be well rid of anything connected with the despised Aten cult.
