Groundhog family invading my bird feeder area!!

This was very entertaining to watch all three of these Groundhogs trying to squeeze in this tight area to get a morsel to eat!

The breeze off the lake was swaying these wild daisies...the image is not crooked (although I am often an offender).

With this secluded part of Derwent water getting rather busier by the minute, I had to start looking for smaller compositions to take advantage of the stunning light and mist and these three silhouetted tree's seemed just the job, really liked how the remaining autumn leaves stood out against light and dark parts of the scene.

Garter Snakes

I didn't realize this, but apparently my bird blind is only a couple feet away from where these Garter Snakes were housed over the winter...not sure how many are rooming there, but I counted nine that day!!

Two Union Pacific freight trains pass in the day's first light in Clinton, Iowa. The industrial plant in the background is the corn processing plant of Archer Daniels Midland. The locomotive on the left is pushing a train while the locomotive on the right is pulling an approaching train. Not to worry ... the brave little bird on the track got out of the way in time :)

I always say: one's company, two's a crowd, and three's a party.

Taken whilst out with my love one day...three's a crowd but the more the merrier for me.

Another in my gerbera daisy series. A couple people asked on the last one I posted whether I used studio lighting, so I thought I would describe my rather complicated set up for this shot. A) Put daisies in a vase on my dining room table; B) take picture. The light is indirect light from my dining room window and the background is my dining room wall. That's about as sophisticated as I get when it comes to lighting! I did add a little vignetting to darken the corners, which gives it a little of a spotlight effect, but that's about it.
