"And if you would know God be not therefore a solver of riddles. Rather look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children. And look into space; you shall see Him walking in the cloud, outstretching His arms in the lightning and descending in rain. You shall see Him smiling in flowers, then rising and waving His hands in trees."

Main subject was lit with a single B800 in a large octabox boomed directly over camera @ 3/4 power and fired using Phottix Atlas II. The scene was composed in and shutter fired using Camranger Mini.
The subject was this combined in Photoshop with the images of the road, trees, car & trailer, Christmas tree, and ropes to make the final image.
I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.

I'm taking a break from the themes this week. I'm a bit burned out. Contemplating next week and possibly doing something for Black History Month as suggested by Regi. Now what the hell am i gonna do that isn't about black history? LOL!
lying down on the futon in the living room is to take my picture of the day is way better than falling asleep sitting up with my laptop on my lap earlier today. at school. in the hallway. until jen yelled and woke me up.
two straight days with project awareness was worth it though. images to come....

What's that light in my eye? It's coming from the skylight in the atrium at school. Why is there light coming in? Well, because i've once again been up all night at school working on finishing stuff.
It's going to be worth it when i graduate. I keep telling myself that.
Brandon Flowers - Crossfire <- This song is my favorite right now. Listen to it, you won't regret it!
I don't know about this upload. There's things I like in it, then other things I wish I would've changed. Yeah, the birds are photoshopped in and you can 100% tell (which sucks) but everythig else is natural, real, and i'm very proud. I had a different idea yesterday when I took my camera/tripod into the feild. I wanted to take a sitting down shot; but i'm SUCH a sucker for sunsets. I know it gets annoying, i'm sorry! ;D
BY THE WAY: I happen to have a Tumblr, please please please follow me and I'll gladly do the same for you! www.c-baggley.tumblr.com :)

i haven't bought a new pair of jeans in over three years...
the unfortunate garment i'm wearing in this image used to be a pair of jeans, but they got so bad a couple of years ago i had to cut them off at the knees. that was only after the holes growing in one knee got so bad it was wrapping around to the back of the leg and i was just as likely to step out through that hole as the one at the bottom of the leg. i thought about this as the anti-fashionista version of what duane posted as his "confession 1" a few days ago...

I was so thrown by not having to do a "themed" self-portrait today, that i just fired off a couple of snapshots as i was waiting for my friends. I loved the "Seven Deadly Sins" mini-challenge, but i'm really glad to be free to do whatever i want again for now. (Yeah, i know: i was doing those because i wanted to.) It was 73 degrees and sunny today, and my mood reflected it. I even spent time this afternoon hanging out with friends, something i haven't done in a while.
{sigh}
Rain tomorrow.
hey man
evening on the ground
and there is no one else around
so you will
blame me
blame me for the rocks and baby bones
and broken lock on our
garden
garden wall of eden
full of spiderbites and all your lovers
we were
we were born to fuck each other
one way or another
but i'll only lie
down by the waterside at night
hey man
tiny baby tears
i will collect a million years
and you can
blame me
blame me, i will wear it
in the empty hollow part of my
garden
garden wall of eden in the clamour
as they raise the curtain
you will
you will never make me
learn to lay beneath the mountain
because i'll only lie
down by the waterside at night

No, really. Look up "tired" in the dictionary and this is the picture you'll get. But it's a good tired.
I started my day out with a brief affirmation and my whole day went better. Try this: every morning, tell yourself what a wonderful day you're going to have. Then tell yourself one thing you're going to accomplish that day, and how good that's going to make you feel. (And make sure it's something realistic!!) Just keep up this self-talk as you get ready for your day and see if it doesn't make a difference. It did for me.
Okay. Bed now.
(Thanks to Kelly Howell and www.brainsync.com for the affirmation exercise.)
okay, so it's not in the woods; it's in my back yard. you get the idea. i just liked the idea of setting this reflection outside. got bit all to hell by thirsty mosquitoes for my trouble. (how are there so many mosquitoes if georgia is having a severe drought?)

Image of me shot by my incredibly talented former classmate, Daymon Gardner to finish off his book before graduation. He loves textures and i love the way he uses them.
You owe it to yourself to check out his website. And if you're ever in Louisiana in need of a visionary photographic artist, be sure to look him up...
These are supposed to be emotionally honest self-portraits, right? Today was gray, inside and out.
I'm not feeling it.
okay, i haven't slept, my body is doing funny things and i am not feeling it. i did something i haven't done since the day i bought my camera: i took a picture with the settings totally on auto. even let the pop-up flash come on.

i'm getting bored with the 365 Days
not a good sign. most days i'd rather just read a book. or go out and take pictures of other people. (hello?!?!? photographer here, right?) still, i'm committed to completion. even if it means crappy photos with the camera tossed on the floor somewhere snapping me as i do more of my reading for second sunday.

okay, i don't have time for my 365 days right now. i'm all excited about the fact that i
a) actually got out of the house and hung out around some other people. (yes, real people. what do you mean???)
and
b) was at the bi-weekly group shoot-out kind of thingie for the atlanta photographers guild, so i was actually shooting models. (i don't know how to type the harp and trumpet sound of the heavens opening up, so you'll just have to imagine it. yeah... that's it....)
i'm working on uploading some of those images now. therefore, today's theme is "crappy arms-length snapshot i don't give a damn about" day. run with it.
Nobody wants to love me for more than a few hours; so I've decided to love me all the time.
It's the closest I can get to what I want and that's okay for now.
