Trying to create a stage is rather difficult! Too tall! Too short! Not wide enough! Ugh!
Girls like nice though! Drummer can’t sit to well but ....
We literally have Barbie and the Rockers to thank for So In Style!
Stacey Mcbride-Irby and I were working on a very Lady Gaga-esque version of Barbie and the Rockers back in 2007 that ultimately got dropped. (Mind you Lady Gaga didn't come out until 2008 so our designs soared over everyone's heads!)
Once Stacey was reassigned to another project, she immediately created So In Style to have a creative outlet!

The Rocket, one of Reading Railroad's first locomotives, was built by Braithwaite, Milner & Co. in London, England for use at the opening of the line between Reading and Pottstown in 1838. It was in continuous services until March, 1879 with a performance of 310,164 miles. After being retired from service, the Rocket was exhibited at the Chicago World's Columbian Exposition in 189, at the St. Louis Exposition in 1904, and the Fair of the Iron Horse in 1927. Since 1933, the 177-foot long, 26,550 pound coal burner has been on display the Franklin Institute on a portion of the original track in use in 1838.
The Franklin Institute Science Museum opened on January 1, 1934 in the expansive neoclassical building on Benjamin Franklin Parkway designed by John T. Windrem. Owing to the effects of the the Great Depression, only two the wings envisioned by Windrem, surrounding the Benjamin Franklin Memorial, were built. Today the Institute offers 12 permanent hands-on exhibits and hosts renowned traveling exhibits in its more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit space, two auditoriums, and the Tuttleman IMAX Theater.
The Franklin Institute, founded as the Franklin Institute of the State of Pennsylvania for the Promotion of the Mechanic Arts in 1824 by Samuel Vaughan Merrick and William H. Keating , is one of the oldest centers of science education and development in the United States. Named after Benjamin Franklin, America's "first scientist", it was housed in a building on 7th Street that is now home to the Philadelphia History Museum until it moved to its current home on Logan Square.
Many scientists have demonstrated groundbreaking new technology at the Institute over the years. It hosted the International Electrical Exhibition of 1884, the first great electrical exposition in the United States. Nikola Tesla demonstrated the principle of wireless telegraphy at the institute in 1893. The world's first public demonstration of an all-electronic television system was given by Philo Taylor Farnsworth on August 25, 1934.

In Monte Carlo. Staying in Frejus during a german/french jumelage. Then I was still a rocker. Loving Eddie Cochran, Gene + Jerry Lee. Exactly a year later , in 1964 in changed my haircut. Guess what style!!!
Snowy White wasn't much of a showman!
Some time in the early 80's I can edit the date but don't seem to be able to edit the properties!!
The camera was a Nikon FM with Vivitar 35-105mm varifocal lens. At that time there were no restrictions on cameras at the venueso I just roamed around, with a large metal camera box that I could stand on. This was taken from the balcony.
Teddy Geiger sat down with Real Magic TV for some magic and an acoustic session on January 14, 2012 in New York City.
My camera was a Nikon FM with 21mm lens, not a Fujifilm, as Yahoo insists, that was presumably what Jessops processors used to copy the transparency.
At that time there were no restrictions on cameras at the venue so I just roamed around, with a large metal camera box that I could stand on. Obviously I didn't need to stand on it here. :) Moshers at concerts then were possibly more restrained than they are now but even so I was getting bumped and hit regularly.
Carter and I got a pass to see The Rocker after watching The Office panel at Comic Con. After the movie we went up and Carter got Rainn's autograph on the pass... We then got interviewed on Camera by Rainn for one of those cheesy movie promo commercials. Who knows.
The rocking chairs on the big porch of the Oceanic Hotel often rock on their own, from the wind coming off the ocean. Or from ghosts.
You gotta hand it to my Ex. She does know how to cheer me up.
Sensing that I needed to go out, she turned up at my place on Saturday night insisting that I go to the 80's bar with her. Apparently she knew a few girls who were celebrating something that night and wanted her to join them. She of course, asked if I could come a long.
So, after much pleading, I relented and agreed to tag along. After all, the last few times I went to the place, I did enjoy myself eventhough I was a little wrought with the usual insecurities.
We hit the place with nothing more than minimal make-up, a pair of tight jeans, boots and a red plunge top which revealed a little too much. Talking about my insecurities eh? Fearing it, I put on that heavy black overcoat on which has somewhat become my defining attire for this year.
We walked in to the strains of Video Killed the Radio Star by the visiting band and already the place was packed with mullets and shoulder pads. I was, again dressed out of place ...
The girls that my Ex refered to were nurses from a local hospice celebrating a birthday for one of them. I was introduced to them, barely hearing anything above the powerful stage speakers.
And for the upteenth time, I drew the usual stares from the local patrons. I used to think because I was the only 'exotic' looking girl in the bar, but this time, those stares came added with whispers. I knew not of what.
It was only until a Diet Coke later and a Queen track I decided to go to the entrance for my usual menthol. One of the girls came up to me.
What she asked me blew my mind.
'Are you famous? You're on TV aren't you?'
It was not what I expected. I took a look at myself in the mirror by the door. I'm no movie star I thought but asked her just out of curiousity, where she saw me.
After a few minutes, I gathered that her mates and a few of the locals mistook me for a British Indian/Swiss actress.

Strange eh? I must admit, I don't look anything like her at all, but to these women and a few other guys, I apparently did.
The power of make-up I guess.
The girls and I started a conversation. None of them clicked that I wasn't a real girl like them at all when I kept quiet about the number of children I had of whether 'my man' was around.
One of them was married to the bassist who was on stage and was of the opinion that the band was going to be big and they would all live the life of rockstars.
I knew the would because they were that good.
My Ex , in the meantime, was already on her second beer and was dancing fervently to Hawkwind's Silver Machine.
During their break, the band members came out for their cigarettes and I mingled with all of them.
The strangest feeling came over me. Not that I was mistaken for a movie star, not that I was being spoken to by budding artists but the fact that I was accepted as a attractive normal girl. A girl who was expected to have a boyfriend already and possibly with children.
The night got a little surreal later on. Most of the girls that were in there were dancing all around me while the men simply stood, nursing their last beers.
Then half a dozen Santas walked in and things got really weird ...
