It's the small every day gestures that truly mean something to me. Anyone can buy you a nice birthday present once a year, or make a big fuss about some big holiday, but if that man shows you how much he loves and cares for you each and every day in small but meaningful ways... that is truly what matters most.
I attended Jose Villa's one day workshop through PPA and got some amazing shots.... more to come, I promise! Jose was my beloved wedding photographer and it was so amazing to be part of his workshop! He has workshops coming up in Mexico, Santa Barbara, and Singapore so be sure to check them out!
I also should mention that this is SOOC (brought into PS only to watermark). You know what that means? I'm beginning to nail my exposures! *happy dance*
eta: wow, thank you all for all your faves and comments! my photo is currently #2 in explore! :)

I was fortunate to be at the photo shoot for the Charleston Weddings magazine, and capture a few photos of this lovely model.
The shoot was at Middleton Place Plantation, Charleston, SC.

For my Styled Chic No. 1, I took this totally hip and modern room shot from Crate & Barrel. This hip and modern design is inspired by color and sophistication. This wedding suite contains an Invitation, belly band and RSVP card. I love working with different color palettes. I took the cream, black and purple tones as my palette. There are so many combination’s that can come from from this including the silver from the wall, but I wanted something a little different. I also took the pattern from the pillow and incorporated it on the belly band. Perfect!
I created a custom monogram to layer on the belly band to really give some punch and brand the couple. I used an ivory cream linen card stock to add some richness and flat printed them. These could just as well be letterpressed! I would pair these with gorgeous ivory cream envelopes and a custom rubber stamp. *wink
Geiranger - This specially marked road section, which has been named Knuten – the Knot – is still the same as when it was opened in 1882. It was constructed in connection with the work done on Geirangervegen to win height and navigate difficulties in the terrain. The construction in solid rock is witness to the engineering skills of its designers and those who built it, and it represents an important monument to the road-building pioneers who built Geirangervegen from 1881 and to the opening in 1889.
I sooooo need a few new lens! I'm struggling with a f3.5 lens and no lighting equiptment to get it right!

Shaq and Steph chose to do a courthouse wedding in Ellicott City. It was hosted at the newer Howard County courthouse which features a beautiful white lobby and awesome architecture and design. We then traveled to downtown and the old courthouse to take family photos and such. Shot with a Nikon D810.

The Harriet Himmel Theater at CityPlace, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, features 11,000 square feet of event space. The facility was originally built in 1926 as a Methodist church and refurbished as the event venue and theater in 2000. It can accommodate up to 275 guests for a seated dinner, 400 in a theater-style setting and up to 600 for receptions. There are three levels at this venue, offering three different potential ceremony locations.
The Balcony. Featuring 3,500 square feet of space, this area can hold up to 300 guests. Overlooking Theater area below, the views and lighting in this location are unique and create a romantic setting for you to exchange your vows.
The Lobby. For a smaller event, the lobby may be the ideal location. With enough space for 150 guests, the marble and hardwood flooring, neutral colors and open space will allow you to customize the look for your big day.
Main Salon. With room for 600 of your guests, you will find this space is ideal for a larger event. It can be fitted with tables and chairs, so you can host your ceremony and reception in the same location.
Hedrick Brothers Construction was one of the contractors on the CityPlace project that spread over 77 acres in downtown West Palm Beach in 2000. The former First United Methodist Church built in the 1920’s was historically restored and converted into an exhibition hall. The roof was replaced with barrel tile and the copper roof on the bell tower was completely restored.

I crashed a wedding party at Lake Robinson this evening for a beautiful Colombian couple. I'm experimenting with documentary style photography but first here is a classic one to begin with. Apparently there are several styles - Classic, Artistic, Dramatic, Lifestyle and Documentary. They can be Digital (iPhone in this case) or Film. www.theknot.com/content/wedding-photography-styles
