Macro Mondays - "Beatles/Beetles"

Happy Macro Monday for all my friends!
Numbered first pressing of the White Album. This is the real deal. I arranged the album and it's inserts on the funky background paper. I used my new mantfrotto lumie light mounted on my tripod and hand held my camera over the arrangement.
‘Money (That’s what I want)’ was released on November 22, 1963 as part of the Beatles second studio album, ‘With the Beatles’. The cover of this album is one that I really liked! Take a look at it on Google.
This is for the group, Crazy Tuesday and the task is to post a photo where you visualise a Beatles song title.
Came across this tribute to the Beatles when on my way to get the boat back home. The statues are larger than life but then so were the Beatles! The detail is remarkable and I think it does them justice.

The de Young Museum in San Francisco is currently showing an exhibit of photos entitiled 'Eyes of the Storm' that record the Beatles' experiences from late 1963 and early months of 1964 when Beatlemania erupted in the UK. It also records their tours to Paris, New York, Washington, D.C. and Miami. The exhibit was initially shown at the National Gallery in London.
Inspired by the re-discovery of nearly a thousand photographs taken by McCartney on a 35mm camera, the exhibit also includes images made by other photographers of the Beatles and their associates.
It was an extraordinary time in the lives of these four young men as they became "the most famous people on the planet."
Seeing the exhibit certainly took me back to the 1960's and the first appearance of the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show.

An iconic statue of the Fab Four, in their hometown. The Beatles Statue arrived on Liverpool's Waterfront in December 2015. Donated by the famous Cavern Club, the placement of the statue coincides with the 50 year anniversary of the band's last gig played in Liverpool, at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.....................

The Beatles and The Move were very fruity then!!. I never saw The Beatles but I did see The Move in Brighton at the Hotel Metropole in November 1968. It's a long time ago but I do remember Spooky Tooth and Chickenshack being on the same bill (I think!)l.

What does Yellow Submarine mean in the Beatles song?
The submarine represents the plumbing in old houses. In the old days plumbing made a lot of noise, making sounds like being in a submarine. It is yellow because it is a metaphor for there being a sunny side to everything.

This goes along with my Macro Monday photo this week. Much to my older brother's chagrin, I spent a lot of time listening to his albums when he was out. I grew up with a love for The Beatles, The Stones, The Who and the likes. Makes me wish I had been born earlier, but then again it's probably a good thing I wasn't. I came by this album as a Christmas present a few years ago from my brother. Was a little surprised as it has been years since I have received one & would have sworn it was a calendar. The following year he followed up with The Stones, "Sticky Fingers". Sometimes big brothers can rock =)

i wonder how many kids out there today have ever seen an actual vinyl album? i was just thinking the other day how much has changed in the last 20 years. my kids (9 and 7) will grow up in a world where:
there is no such thing as getting up and going to the tv to change the channel
(if you can't find the remote, you're fucked..)
cell phones are normal....
computers...eh...everyone has them...(we had some crappy piece of crap at school when i graduated in 1984..there were no home computers..)
they'll never remember a vcr or a vehicle without a dvd player/tv/video game player in it
they'll never remember when MTV used to actually PLAY music....ALL the time...oh...don't get me started on some "Headbangers Ball"!!!
they'll never get stoned and go to the midnight movie and see "Heavy Metal" or "The Wall" and appreciate it like we did.
