...is a day to give thanks...
For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

Patient of labor when the end was rest,
Indulged the day that housed their annual grain,
With feasts, and off'rings, and a thankful strain.”

Monday, October 10th is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada. Pumpkin pie is always a traditional favorite on the menu : )
On Thanksgiving (and Christmas) I always put out peanut butter, peanuts and birdseed on a couple plates for the birds and squirrels. So far only one squirrel is interested. He/she took all of the peanuts.

I want to thank my friends who make my life happy in many ways. I appreciate you for being an important part of my life. Thank you, all of you, just for being here for me.
Most of all, I thank God for being with me in all my ups and downs and completely faithful as He has promised. He has blessed me with an awesome family for which I am thanking Him everyday of my life.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate(d) - hope it is/was a wonderful day for you and yours.
Per Wiki:
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and Liberia.
It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Similarly named festival holidays occur in Germany, and Japan.
Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and around the same part of the year in other places.
Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated as a secular holiday as well.

Dad is ready for another Scotch! It's Thanksgiving - single malt, please! Should go great with the Caprese salad, antipasti, and sushi!! Save room for the turkey!
May your days be bright with sun
And may you never walk alone
May your path be strewn with flowers
May your joy be carved in stone
If darkness dares to pierce your heart
To bring you to your knees
Then just stop to count your blessings
More abundant than the trees

Thanksgiving
The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go.
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain,
So open wide the doorway~
Thanksgiving comes again!
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving Day.
Thanksgiving is an American tradition where people stop to take stalk of events for the past year and to give thanks for all the good and grace received. It reminds us to be grateful and to express it. We have a great meal to celebrate it, sharing among friends and family.
