At least if you're one of the hapless little fish in the group! A young Tri-colored heron demonstrates his talents for doing whatever it takes to get the job done! Another shot with some of the baitfish fleeing for their lives! Taken on Armand Bayou!
I should have mentioned that the tides were extremely high that day and the birds were scrambling for any vantage point that they could get to hunt from!

Tiny Terror - After mating with the female in the previous image, the male flew to a low branch very close to me before heading out to hunt again and bringing back a Western Fence Lizard. I always wanted a close up of a pygmy owl on a clear perch and finally got my wish 9 years after my first sighting in Oregon in February 2014. As with all my owl images, no playback ever used, this male was just that indifferent to our presence.

Taken inside one of the 'Housing' units at Auschwitz II or Birkenau, as it was known as. These shelves, were used by families as their quarters.
It is so hard to try and understand and imagine what conditions were like for those held here. Today, these buildings sever as a reminder of those dark days.
Lets hope the message is never forgotten.
The location is the church garden of St. Pancras New Church on Euston Street, London. The sculpture, made from translucent ivory onyx and brightly illuminated in the sharp afternoon sun, represents "Saint Michael the Protector". Emily Young, the sculptor, sees this head of the archangel Michael as her response to the Islamist terror meted out in London on 7/7/2005. Significantly, the other half of his face has broken away. Intentionally, I would guess. My photo, therefore, does not cover all the dimensions of this work of art. However, there is already a lot to think about a paradox: the terror was carried out in the name of God and, here, the response expects the same God to offer protection. Perhaps, it is in this instant that the missing left half of the archangel's face is important - God did not protect or, not yet. In any way, different from the jihadists' hijacking of divine will, the sculpture seems to say that God is not at human disposal. And I would add that the Archangel has got no hands, but we do. The Topography of Terror is a project in Berlin that has existed since 1987 to document and deal with terror during the period of National Socialism in Germany, especially during the period of rule from 1933 to 1945.
This picture is not intended to make a political statement, it serves only as a photographic work of art.
