You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey

You're as sweet as strawberry wine

You're as warm as a glass of brandy

And honey, I stay stoned on your love all the time

Sunrise from Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Unfortunately, this loop road is not opened until the actual sunrise, so this was the first pull-out where I thought I might capture a compelling image before the sun was too high in the sky.

Wishing you a great day - and weekend. Be safe and God bless. :)

Spring in Great Smoky Mountains National Park brings brilliant colors, with deep green forests and bright pink and white mountain laurel.

As we celebrate Earth Day, I thought this image captured simply the beauty of nature without the distractions of man.

Creating fall warbler compositions is much more challenging than spring work. This image was taken in a friends' yard. They use fruit to help attract fall warblers to their yard. By strategically placing this perch in their beautiful garden this image became a possibility.

Tennessee Warblers are still passing through this area in fall migration. Of the many warbler species that are seen in this area Tennessee has a reputation for being one of the plainest. In low light they can be difficult to distinguish from other "confusing" fall warblers. They breed in the North American boreal forest and spend the winter mostly in Central America and the northern edge of South America.

Fall color is ablaze as a southbound loaded grain train led by a YN2 AC4400 stomps over the summit of Duff Mountain Grade in Duff, Tennessee, splitting a set of Louisville & Nashville searchlights at N. E. Kilsyth.

My little Chiyo's cancer has spread into her lungs, and now I am hoping just to have her for a little while longer. She is pain free, and acting like herself, but this past weekend was very rough. Please pray for my little panda. Thank you.

A Tennessee Warbler contemplating its next move...

I really don't know what species it is.

I think ...it's a Tennessee Warbler, but I've never seen one with orange spots in the throat and head:-)
