The Palitana temples of Jainism are located on Shatrunjaya by the city of Palitana in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. The city of the same name, known previously as Padliptapur, has been nicknamed "City of Temples". Along with Shikharji in the state of Jharkhand, the two sites are considered the holiest of all pilgrimage places by the Jain community. As the temple-city was built to be an abode for the divine, no one is allowed to stay overnight, including the priests. Every Jain believes that a visit to this group of temples is essential as a once in a life time chance to achieve nirvana or salvation.
This site on Shatrunjaya hill is considered sacred by Jains and have hundreds of temples. There are approximately 863 marble-carved temples on the hills. The main temple is reached by stepping up 3500 steps. It is said that 23 tirthankaras (a human being who helps in achieving liberation and enlightenment), except Neminatha (a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma), sanctified the hill by their visits. The main temple is dedicated to Rishabha, the first tirthankara; it is the holiest shrine for the Svetambara Murtipujaka sect.
Each temple at Angkor has a different character. The Ta Som Temple is smaller in scale but still well preserved. Like many of the Angkor temples, various structures are enveloped in large ficus (fig) trees. Over time the roots and limbs of the ficus become intertwined to form a unique visual juxtaposition.

I'm off early volunteering this morning and it's a grey dismal day. We're having a fire and hopefully baked potatoes if all goes well. Haunted eyes is by Joseph Arthur and this waterfall haunts my bleary eyes this morning.
The Bahai are a curious religion. They are a monotheistic religion, have no priests, believe in repeated revelations with the one of their founder Baha*Ullah being the last one so far, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed being others. They believe in uniting all religions and humanity peacefully but don't try to convert others. If more religions were like this, this world would be far more peaceful.
Unluckily, they are not very successful in terms of membership. The temple in Langenhain close to Frankfurt is the single house of worship in the whole of Europe. There are about two handful of them worldwide.

The Golden Temple Amritsar India (Sri Harimandir Sahib Amritsar) is not only a central religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of human brotherhood and equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace and religious fulfilment without any hindrance. It also represents the distinct identity, glory and heritage of the Sikhs. To pen-down the philosophy, ideology, the inner and outer beauty, as well as the historical legacy of Sri Harimandir Sahib is a momentous task. It is a matter of experience rather than a of description.

Wikipedia: Ancient Siam (also known as Ancient City, Thai: เมืองโบราณ, Mueang Boran) is a museum park constructed by Lek Viriyaphant and occupying over 200 acres (0.81 km2) in the shape of Thailand.
Ancient Siam is dubbed as the world's largest outdoor museum. Close to the Crocodile Farm in Samut Prakan Province, the 320-hectare "city" features 116 structures of Thailand's famous monuments and architectural attractions. The grounds of Ancient Siam correspond roughly to the shape of the kingdom, with the monuments lying at their correct places geographically. Some of the buildings are life-size replicas of existing or former sites, while others are scaled down. Still others are "creative designs," and not replicas of any historical structure.
The replicas were constructed with the assistance of experts from the National Museum to ensure historical accuracy. (Photographers note: This temple is an inspiration of the shape of Phra Thinang Wihan Somdej which was destroyed in Ayutthaya in 1767 and not an exact replica.)
