Taken with a Sigma 150-600mm telephoto lens along a pond.
I find dragonflies interesting so I tried to get a shot of this fellow before he took off.
Its not a perfect image as per say with a macro lens but I thought I'd share it anyway.
Hope you enjoy and thanks guys for visiting! :)

Because the birds don’t always avail themselves to my lens I get bored and start photographing more compliant subjects 😂

A copy of a photo a friend had on the wall. I think taken on a Shackleton expedition to the antarctic circle. I should stop thinking my camera is heavy :)
Have a good weekend!
I think this is a Black-bellied plover here. I enjoyed capturing this bird as it fed among the water pools in the early evening light.
Using a telephoto lens from a low angle like this really allows one to enter the bird's world and experience it from their point of view... I like that.
Downy is a Maine Coon Cat. He is big but not heavy. And he is still very much a kitten, but aren't they all?
Hiking among mountains, hills, waterfalls, and rivers always reminds me of the magic of the world. It may not be quite the same magic as a fire wielding mage in epic fantasy, but it makes it easy to imagine that world of high magic.

A telephoto zoom into the last port picking up the background fruit trees with pink-orange hues to contrast the gold of the larger trees. The Clutha river is the second longest in NZ and runs almost from one coast to the other in the South Island.
Some Emily Dickinson:
MY river runs to thee:
Blue sea, wilt welcome me?
My river waits reply.
Oh sea, look graciously!
I ’ll fetch thee brooks
From spotted nooks,—
Say, sea,
Take me!
Took this photo a while back now! Up on East Hill and had hungry jacks! this little fella loved eating my chips! hehe!

Taken using the Tamron SP 60mm f/2 Macro lens with a Nikon to NEX adapter on my Sony A6000.
This shot was inspired by the subject of 'numbers' over on the Macro Mondays group.

Things take on a different look with a 70-300mm lens on! This was captured at 300mm.

A quick note: I don't know whether 170mm on a full-frame camera constitutes 'telephoto'. Answers on a postcard please.
I 'think' we took this shot from the ascent of Kirk Fell in the Lake District - it was a long day and Becky's watch tells us that on that particular day we walked 40,000 steps and I'm guessing this was in between steps 5,000 and 10,000.
I'm sure this viewpoint is very well known to everyone but it is such a beautiful landscape. The maze of dry stone walling is very iconic.
