Op vrijdag 22 augustus 2014 bracht Tweede Kamerlid voor de VVD Anne Wil Lucas een werkbezoek aan Fijnmechanica en Centrum Duurzaam in Drachten. Doel van haar bezoek was om zich te laten informeren over de wijze waarop partijen in Friesland samenwerken om in te spelen op de vraagstukken van de arbeidsmarkt, in het bijzonder in de technieksectoren. Bovendien was ze benieuwd naar ‘best practises’ op het gebied van het enthousiasmeren van jongeren voor de techniek, vernieuwende onderwijsvormen en arbeidsbemiddeling.
Enthousiasmeren van jongeren
Er zijn verschillende spelers in Friesland die zich bezighouden met het onderwijs in Friesland. Zo is het doel van TechTalent meer instroom en behoud van (jonge) mensen in de techniek. Het Technisch Beroepsonderwijs in Friesland is een samenwerking van 25 VMBO scholen en 3 ROC’s en heeft als doel om de instroom van MBO-technische opleidingen te vergroten met 10% ten opzichte van oktober 2012.
Levenslang leren
Er zijn verschillende spelers in Friesland die zich bezighouden met onderwijs en arbeidsmarkt in Friesland. Stichting OOM helpt metaalverwerkende bedrijven bij het opleiden en ontwikkelen van medewerkers. ROC Friese Poort Bedrijfsopleidingen ROC Friese Poort Bedrijfsopleidingen is dé opleider voor de zakelijke en particuliere markt. Bedrijven, particulieren, werkenden en werkzoekenden (volwassenen) kunnen bij ROC Friese Poort Bedrijfsopleidingen terecht voor om-, her- en bijscholing, voor arbeidsmobiliteit, het Ervaringsprofiel (EVP) en het Ervaringscertificaat (EVC).
Leermomenten
Volgens Anne Wil Lucas is het positief dat er veel initiatieven zijn om arbeidsmarkt en onderwijs op elkaar af te stemmen. Het is beter om iets te doen dan om niets te doen. Nieuwe initiatieven zijn er om te leren en om het volgende keer beter te doen. Wel is het belangrijk dat de verschillende spelers niet hetzelfde doen. Ontdubbelen is dan het advies. Een andere succesfactor is het creëren van een infrastructuur om de verschillende initiatieven op elkaar af te stemmen. Al met al voldoende inspiratie om mee te nemen richting Den Haag.
Fijnmechanica
Een praktijkvoorbeeld van vernieuwende onderwijsvormen is de bedrijfsschool ROC Friese Poort Centrum Fijnmechanica. Hier worden jonge talenten via de Beroeps Begeleidende Leerweg (BBL) opgeleid voor het vervaardigen van hoogwaardige technische producten. Het centrum is ontstaan uit de Philips Bedrijfsschool te Drachten en is gevestigd binnen de ROC Friese Poort te Drachten. De leerlingen van deze bedrijfsschool starten op niveau 2 en hebben de mogelijkheid om door te stromen naar niveau 3 en 4.
Centrum Duurzaam
Centrum Duurzaam wil, als onderdeel van ROC Friese Poort, de kennis en ervaring bij het bedrijfsleven benutten voor het opleiden van jonge vakmensen in de praktische toepassing van innovatieve duurzame technieken. Tevens wil Centrum Duurzaam met goede en objectieve voorlichting de toepassing van deze technieken bij bedrijven en particulieren stimuleren. Kennis, ervaring en vakmanschap voor een duurzame wereld.
