I wanted to create a desktop background for my computer that hyperlinked to all my major web apps. Haven't quite got there yet, but it's been an interesting journey. Here's a quick screencapture of an experiment with iMindMap into Techsmith's Snagit 11 to add hyperlinked hotspots. This can then be exported as an interactive PDF or a Flash file.
