Uber drivers in San Diego, California gather outside Uber San Diego headquarters for their first organized protest rally against the 30% driver fee cut the company implemented on Jan 1, 2016.

Protesting the recent 30% reduction in pay to UBER drivers, a protester covers his face at the protest rally in San Diego, California for fear of being deactivated for showing support against the Tech Corporations decision to reap profits off the income of their drivers.

The editions will continue until morale improves. Or there’s no one left these companies can lay off.

Uber’s global headquarters, located at 1725 3rd Street in San Francisco’s thriving Mission Bay district, reflects the company’s innovative spirit through its striking modern architecture. This cutting-edge building is a glass marvel, with its sleek reflective facade mirroring the city’s evolving skyline and emphasizing Uber's forward-thinking ethos. Designed with sustainability and productivity in mind, the building stands as a beacon of Silicon Valley's influence on San Francisco's urban landscape.

Architecturally, Uber HQ features a distinctive curvature along the top floors, adding a dynamic visual appeal to the glass-dominated design. The generous use of glass symbolizes transparency and connectivity, integral values in the tech industry. Inside, the structure offers open, collaborative workspaces designed to foster creativity and teamwork among Uber’s global workforce. The use of sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems underscores Uber’s commitment to environmental responsibility, as reflected in its corporate operations.

Positioned near Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, Uber’s headquarters is part of the ongoing transformation of the Mission Bay neighborhood, now a hub for technology and innovation. The area’s close proximity to the waterfront and its access to public transportation make it an ideal location for Uber’s corporate base, allowing employees easy connectivity across the Bay Area.

Uber HQ’s architectural design, sustainability initiatives, and key location at the crossroads of San Francisco’s business and tech sectors make it a pivotal point in the city’s modern development, marking the ongoing evolution of this iconic city.

About Silicon Valley

SILICON VALLEY takes a comic look at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.

After taking the tech world by storm last season at TechCrunch Disrupt, Richard and rest of the Pied Piper team – Erlich, Jared, Dinesh and Gilfoyle – look ahead to a bright and profitable future. But their success may be in jeopardy thanks to big changes at Raviga, the company created by Peter Gregory, and Nucleus, the competing compression platform launched by Hooli CEO Gavin Belson.

A collaboration between Mike Judge and Alec Berg, the show returns for its ten-episode second season SUNDAY, APRIL 12 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), immediately following the season debut of “Game of Thrones.” via HBO

Silicon Valley Season 2 premieres April 12 at 10PM, only on HBO.

[I did not shoot this photo / x-ray. It was sent to me in an email.]

This is HILARIOUS! I received this image, along with several others, as a joke email with the title "Miss TSA 2011 Pin-Up Calendar". Another "photo" is located here. Just to have a little fun, I changed the title of the image to Miss "Pat Down" 2010. So, is this really a pin-up image of a nude model radiograph? Not exactly...

Actually, the image originated from Japanese tech company, EIZO. The pics (xrays) were taken for a calendar promoting a line of high-end computer monitors to doctors. If the old adage, "Sex sells" is true, me thinks Planar and others are going to have to up their game to top this one. BTW, I browsed around EIZO's website (including the .eu version) and could not find any reference to the Playboy style x-ray calendar.

NOTE: Copyright belongs to the originator, which I assume is BUTTER, the Berlin-based advertising agency that created the radiographic hottie calendar.

The entire campus at that location is being demolished to make way for a new development that will include housing, retail businesses and office space.

Other companies have occupied some or all of this campus in the past. If I recall correctly, Apple Computer occupied at least one of the buildings in the 1990s. Then again, Apple has been in and out of *many* buildings in the valley.
