Completed in 2014, the elegant Minor Mosque has quickly become one of the most recognizable landmarks in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Built from brilliant white marble and decorated with delicate blue tilework, the mosque combines traditional Islamic architecture with modern craftsmanship. Rather than photographing the mosque from directly in front, I chose this viewpoint through the beautifully landscaped gardens. The tree-lined path, ornamental lamp posts, and carefully maintained greenery naturally guide the eye toward the striking turquoise dome and the two slender minarets, creating a peaceful atmosphere that reflects the serenity of the place. Our next stop in Tashkent is the impressive Hazrati Imam Complex, one of the city's most important religious and historical sites. It is easy to reach from the city centre by metro or with Yandex Go, the widely used online taxi service in Uzbekistan.
The Minor Mosque is one of Tashkent's most important places of worship and can accommodate thousands of worshippers. Surrounded by spacious gardens, it offers visitors a welcome sense of calm amid the bustle of the Uzbek capital.
De Minor Moskee, voltooid in 2014, is uitgegroeid tot één van de bekendste bezienswaardigheden van Tasjkent. Gebouwd uit helder wit marmer en rijk versierd met verfijnde blauw-witte tegeldecoraties, vormt de moskee een fraaie combinatie van traditionele islamitische architectuur en moderne bouwkunst. In plaats van de gebruikelijke frontale opname koos ik voor een gezichtspunt door de prachtig aangelegde tuinen. Het met bomen omzoomde wandelpad, de sierlijke lantaarnpalen en het verzorgde groen leiden de blik vanzelf naar de turquoise koepel en de twee slanke minaretten, waardoor de rustige en harmonieuze sfeer van deze bijzondere plek mooi tot zijn recht komt. De Minor Moskee behoort tot de belangrijkste gebedshuizen van Tasjkent en biedt plaats aan duizenden gelovigen. De ruime tuinen maken het niet alleen een religieus centrum, maar ook een geliefde plek om even aan de drukte van de stad te ontsnappen. Onze volgende stop in Tasjkent is het indrukwekkende Hazrati Imam Complex, een van de belangrijkste religieuze en historische plekken van de stad. Vanuit het centrum is het complex gemakkelijk te bereiken met de metro of met Yandex Go, de veelgebruikte online taxiservice in Oezbekistan.

There was an impending and overwhelming sense of isolation as I recall on this particular nite.

This site is a rather long site which has been home to several businesses including Wheatsheaf Garage as it is known today but formerly known as Wheatsheaf Service Station, this was one of two Texaco sites on Parkgate Road although fuel sales had ended here quite a while before the other Texaco site a couple of miles away.
In the earliest street view two Texaco branded pumps were still standing as well as the former name in the Texaco style decals above the shop although two pumps had been taken out some time before and the totem/canopy had repurposed for Budget Rent a Car who were also trading from this site.
In 2012 all the Budget branding had gone, even from the canopy which was plain blue.
By 2016 the Texaco branded Dunclare pumps had been replaced by two Gilbarco Euroline pumps which were plain white and a large chunk of the garage was trading as a taxi company.

Another rare and unique vehicle from this years Motorclassica.
A 1929 Cadillac 341B 7 seater. The 1929 Cadillac's were the first cars in the industry to have 'Synchro-Mesh' which eliminated the need to double clutch when shifting gears. An L-head V8 engine with a 341 cubic inch displacement was standard.
This car is thought to be the one that (Sid) Joseph Siedlecky had amongst the stable of 15 or so early motor tourist vehicles in New South Wales' Blue Mountains districts. Sid started his business in 1919 and was later advertising as Sid Siedlecky Taxi and Tourist Services.
Having spent many years laying idle and unmaintained, it was eventually purchased site unseen by the current owner in 2013. The engine recommissioned and a new radiator installed, the car is now in running order as an example of a genuine, unmolested preservation car. It is completely original with the body paintwork faded but undamaged and the upholstery is complete with wear and some small holes.

Visiting Glasgow , I decided to check out George Square on my way, I came across many Cab's waiting on customers at the Taxi rank, I whipped out my cam to archive and post on Flickr.

This is close to the spice and garment markets, within walking distance of the Gold Souk and is an easy cab ride to the major attractions like Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.
I really enjoyed taking the water taxi for some of my shorter trips. It was less than 1 Dhram to go almost anywhere you'd like along the creek.

I snapped this photo with my Canon Rebel T5. I believe this is a 1980 Checker Marathon. I believe this car was used by Mac Cab, the local taxi company. At some point in time they switched to Volvos before going to Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra(s).
