Oscars 2020 Best Picture Nominee #3: Once upon a Time… in Hollywood!
I think this is my new favorite Tarantino movie. There's so much less of the awkward and problematic bits that crop up in many of his movies, and it's just a lovely and hopeful re-imagining of a real-life event, with some badass Tarantino action moments.

Say what you will about Logic, but I saw him back in June with some of the lads so I wanted to make a figure as a memento to that experience. So, I made Logic as he is seen on the cover for Bobby Tarantino II.
The hair, glasses, brows, shirt wrinkles/collar/YSIV logo, and shoes were painted, and the wraps on his hand were made out of e-tape then painted.

So recently I have won a giveaway, in which i was able to get a free reroot done by one of the best doll reroot artist, Denisa Medrano. She is a very sweet person and does amazing doll hair and posts it all (and hosts her giveaways) on Instagram! I love her so much, and her new hair goes perfectly with her outfit!

I hope you like my tribute to Quentin Tarantino’s box office smash 😊 I usually like to take inspiration from my source material without directly copying it, so I have an idea and then follow my own creative impulses. I don’t know why but those images of Uma Thurman in what looks like a motel bedroom ( I think they were publicity shots, not stills from a scene) brought to mind the kind of decor that used to inhabit those spaces for decades. So, while the movie is apparently set in the early eighties I decided to go down the road of 1970s kitsch, perhaps a style of decor that might have been favoured by motel owners. So I chose to feature some art that reflects that idea - the scantily clad nymph on the left is by a painter usually known as J H Lynch but the actual identity of that painter is a mystery. The painting on the right is by Vladimir Tretchikoff..
This whole idea came from dressing my gorgeous Erin in the black wig I bought from Julia Leroy ( Culte De Paris). I just love Julia’s wigs, they always look amazing on my bald Erin (who I have kept bald especially so she can wear wigs! ). The rest of her outfit is the bra top (customised) from Faces of Adele, pants from Sister Moguls Giselle and flowery shrug from Vanity & Glamour Nadja.
I usually need to make some elements to add the finishing touches to my dioramas and in this case, I made the bedspread from a scarf/pashmina, the lamp is made from a small vase bought in a charity shop and the lampshde is a recycled acetate essay folder covered in fabric (you may recognise this fabric from one of my dresses!). Finally I printed the book covers for the books on the bed - I actually found the one used in the publicity stills with Uma.
